Endo - Osunaarashi should be a VERY interesting bout :-)

this is my list of bouts to watch tomorrow. Different reasons for each one .... most of them due to heya/rikishi preferences. Or just plain interest in how they develop ... (in bold i indicate my predictions or preferences)

Aoto - Takagenji

Hakkaku prospect in good form. If i would bet i would chose Takagenji in this one but subjectivity is one of my main characteristics. B-)

Shineiyama - Daishoho

I find this Mongolian quite interesting and he showed some solid basics in this first 2 bouts (never watched his 3rd fight). Shineiyama is definitely no push-over but i predict that his mediocre tachi-ai posture will cost him this bout. If Daishoho grips a mawashi ... it will be over.

Morimune - Hotutosho

Best Musashigawa prospect (2 rikishi competing ... one of them is 3-0 and the other 0-3 ... not a huge accomplishment ... i know). Hokutosho is a push-over .... unfortunately.

Hamagami - Hasegawa

Hamagami is a perfect victim for a henka or a pull but in the bottomless pit that is Jk-Jd he gets away with it. His luck runs dry tomorrow. Hasegawa is bulking up in a good way and he is ready for a new highest rank. He needs to improve his footwork ... running after your opponents is too "Kokkai-like".

Kaiho - Motokiyama

7 wins in a row for Kaiho and the 8th is on it's way. From the things he showed us thus far he should have an easy job. (In jonokuchi...)

Even though it was the name that made me "adopt" him .... i am starting to have hopes for him.

Chiyoraizan - Ishiura

Ishiura is the reason i am watching this.

Sasanoyama - Kansei

a rikishi with no KKs in his career. Enough said ....

Endo - Osunaarashi

Endo (was he a university yokozuna?) is going to be the sekitori with the shortest hair that i can remember. He is technically far better that Osuna and probably one of the best in these parts of the banzuke. Definitely one to watch.

I thought the same about his bout against Chiyomaru, which didn't turn out to be the big test I expected.

Tomorrow WILL be, for sure (if not Osunaarashi will start to scare me)

Difference, of course, being that, if I am not mistaken, Osunaarashi needs to stay undefeated to hope for a sekitori spot while Endo can afford one loss.

Although the favourite normally wins, the under dog can sometimes surprise.Just because you are born with a slver spoon in your mouth does not always mean that the big Dog gets the bone.Blood sweat and tears can sometimes win..'..well atleast in the "Rocky" movies.,,even ik the "kid" doesnt make sekitori this basho , he' ll get there in the end...

Endo looks like the real deal. I predict that he'll make sanyaku at the very least.

Well the "the kid" flipped the "real deal".Must admit it was a great match...good show by both Rikishi.

It was a dominant and overwhelming win by Osunaarashi, wasn't it?
