Pikenoyama 27 Posted May 28, 2004 Hi guys, my name is Rudolf and I'm from the Czech Republic - very heart of the Europe (everybody from France to Estonia is saying this but we are the only ones who's right :-D . We guys like most of all football (in European sence) and ice-hockey but we enjoy lot of different sports. As the world has opened to us even sumo steped in to our country and as I know the Czech Sumo Federation is doing pretty well including construction of the marvelous sumo training center in Jilemnice in Krkonose mountains and providing the enter of the first Czech rikishi - Takanoyama - to Naruto. Konishiki and amateur giant Yarborough has come to our country in the last years. All this mostly thanks to Shiroikuma the president of the federation. But my way to sumo has started with the Eurosport broadcasting theshots from basho. I "pluged-in" just by a chance but Takanonami and Takanohana were the two guys who opened my eyes eastwards. I enjoyed their ability of beating heavier guys, esp. Musashimaru. I liked very much Takanonami for his extraordinary technique and for his relaxed-like looking showing that doing sumo is a piece of cake. Plus this guy has the same height as me (and Michael Jordan according to some data sources) :-S . And than it was rather quick - after I found the Nihon Sumo Kyokai page and among others the amazing Bandey's page and also the French "Le monde du Sumo" site I revealed this forum and I was lost by looking on your comments and topics instead of working (Oops! ) . As I don't know and sumo fan personally I like to stay here each time and I can hardly leave. Anyway - it is good weather here and it's time to taste the best beer in the world in the garden pub somewhere nearby (In a state of confusion...) See ya. Pikenoyama 27 Posted May 31, 2004 Ahoj !Welcome to the forum (In love...) It's nice to see another guy from this part of the world here. Hi Goly, as a amateur Sherlock, I guess you're from Poland. (Eh?) That made me think of possibility of entering some Polish speaking sumo forum as I can read your language a bit. Can you give me some advice in this respect? Pikenoyama 27 Posted May 31, 2004 Welcome Pikenoyama! I agree with you about the beer, although I think our German friends might have some objections. (Eh?) I should not admit that, but the prescriptions for one of the best Czech beers Pilsner Urquell (hope it is not an elegal advertisment) came from Bavaria in 19th century because in that time whole city of Pilsen was complaining about the quality of beer which was brewed there since 12th century. So German beer looks quite OK to me as many others around Europe. (In love...)
