Akinomaki 39,951 Posted June 25, 2013 (edited) 元Asashoryu supporting the present president of Mongolia, from the democratic party. In 2009 he supported the rival candidate, the former, then president from the peoples revolutionary party. Asa became member of the democratic party in May. His elder brother is a member of parliament for the biggest opposition party, the Mongolian peoples party. For the presidential elections, in Ulan Bator from the 25th to the 3rd, restaurants etc. are forbidden to offer alcoholic beverages. At the general election in 2008 because of irregularities there were riots with casualties. Edited October 10, 2019 by Akinomaki
Akinomaki 39,951 Posted June 27, 2013 (edited) The present president was reelected in one go, reaching just over 50%. Former Mongolian-sumo dai-yokozuna and openweight sumo world champion 1994 Badmanyambuu Bat-Erdene (I remember him from many world championships, he had many good results) from the Mongolian peoples party became second with 42%. ronnie 221 Posted June 27, 2013 Badmanyambuu Bat-Erdene. You couldn't buy a name like that, could you? Can you imagine that guy walking about your local town centre, people nudging each other, pointing and saying "Watch out, that's Bad man yambu"!
kawika 123 Posted June 28, 2013 Indirectly related. When I ask Mongolians if they know Asashoryu, everyone replies no. Do I need to refer to him by his native name?

Akinomaki 39,951 Posted November 3, 2013 The Tospo story seems to have been the one reported by the Mongolian media and is close to certain false, denying that is self-evident. The main story reported in Japan might be true though, the contradicting reports leave a doubt about what A. is denying. The present Mongolian rikishi are baffled. http://www.j-cast.com/2013/11/03188035.html?p=all http://www.sanspo.com/geino/news/20131103/tro13110305030002-n1.html http://www.nikkansports.com/sports/sumo/news/p-sp-tp3-20131103-1213088.html

Manekineko 200 Posted November 13, 2015 the backward oneThe nitpicker in me always wants to point out that it's the nazi version that's the backward one. And since it's Friday, I can't be bothered to restrain her. :-P
inhashi 2,363 Posted November 13, 2015 The original Buddhist Sanskrit sauvastika or manji in Japanese, as seen above worn by Asashoryu, has arms that point in a counter-clockwise direction. A symbol of ancient and honorable origins representing prosperity and good fortune. The version perverted by nazi (the hakenkruez) always have arms pointed in a clockwise direction. Akinomaki 39,951 Posted October 4, 2017 Hakuho wants to bring rice to Mongolia and 元Asashoryu soba. His agricultural company (he also owns a bank, restaurants etc.) for some years now grows soba in the Selenge province - while in Japan he came to like soba. o In corporation with the zenmenkyo cooperative (their website www.zenmenkyo.com denies access without proxy, their videos are open though), which had also been guiding the soba cultivation (via a producer from Hokkaido, similar to Hakuho with the rice), on the 7th and 8th there will be the 1st ever Mongolian handmade soba festival, a common sight-seeing event in Japan. http://www.asahi.com/articles/ASKB436TZKB4PTIL005.html 1
