Hakuho appeared on a Hakata kabuki stage, in the last scene of the play "Ishikawa Goemon", with his friend Ichikawa Ebizou who plays Goemon - always in front of a full house (about 1500 watched) in Kyushu. http://www.tvlife.jp/entame/87521

The performances go on till day 13 of the Kyushu basho, each day 11:30-19:40h - will kabuki take some full house days away from the basho? http://www.hakataza.co.jp/lineup/h28-11/?tab=tab-03 (15min walk distance)

It was on AsaChan yesterday, 39:45-41:22

N.sta. had it 24:28-25:47: https://youtu.be/T1C8RPBTVQI?t=24m28s

In return, Ebizou was at the Miyagino-beya encouragement party, together with Nakamura Shidou from the same play. o

Albert Hall? The actor from Apocalypse Now? Great film. BTW, Mr Hall celebrated his 69th birthday yesterday.

Ishiura also from the governor of Tottori got the appointment to Tottori home region ambassador

And did his job: Ishiura calls for support for a city stricken by the Tottori Chubu quake this October

Shikihide-beya sumo taisou with local Mito aidoru girls
The oyakata as the show-master first presents his rikishi, then the gymnastics and of course he didn't forget the usual PR for the heya. esp. to call for all kids with interest in sumo to join the heya

either a late video from that or they did it again this year: one of the girls takes on Baraki - and v.v.

Without understanding a word, and even if I didn't know anything about Orora, I could categorically say from this that he'll never make sekitori. He was talking in flowing sentences, above a bare whisper, and didn't sound for a moment like he was apologising for existing.

He had only one day of rest after the basho - and there is not much time to train: Hakuho-cup, setsubun activities - a bit of sumo at the Fuji tournament - and now he's in Hong-Kong from the 6th to the 8th for the opening of the 2nd chanko restaurant that he produces -  and then the heya travels to Hawaii from the 11th to the 17th.

That left a hole in the schedule for Hakuho on the 9th and 10th: and today he recorded the narration for the new edition of the regular documentary about him, the 6th now.

Ishiura had a talk-show with sujo Chika Yamane: she is looking out for good looking rikishi "Ishiura is handsome, but a yet unknown one is Kotodairyu!"

He did PR for Tottori, his job. Rival is Ura, whom he likely will meet next basho: "I'll be very conscious and bring him down." At their first meeting in juryo last year he lost. For the basho he'll change from the green shimekomi (basho mawashi) to a dark blue one, like Washuyama, the rikishi he longs to come close to. http://www.nikkansports.com/battle/sumo/news/1781832.html

Surprising, he's worn the green for a long time.

A term we have to get used to: su(mo)-jo-(shi) = sumo-girls: the ones who are said to be the main promoters of the present sumo boom.

Isn't there a song "Hey sumo girl"?

Maybe Kintamayama can record it - becomes a hit in Japan, maybe.

With a video of all the things sujo love, handsome rikishi, cute rikishi, cute goods of popular rikishi

Oh, same daft idea as 'Brexit' then, if somewhat easier to take - probably because I'm a lecherous old bloke!

Google hasn't caught up - kept taking me to Italian language translations...
