Video Stream - Availability

Recommended Posts

UBS is back! It is again available outside Mongolia. Both active streaming and the archives are still there. A login is now required. Click the white box that begins with an H. It will ask for an Email address and a password. The password can be anything that you want to use exclusively for UBS logins. You will get an Email with a clickable line to confirm your login. After that, you can start up using your email address and password as a login.

One thing - selecting a language option is available when you go to the site - it doesn't matter if you've created a login yet or not. It sure is easier to create your login when you see words like "Register" rather than look for "the white box that begins with an H" :-)

The published program schedule often has little to do with what is actually broadcast.

Day 1 matches started about 15 minutes early, and UBS coverage started late at about 27 minutes after the hour. Missed the first 4 or 5 matches.

I have not seen that you could choose language.

Where can you change the language to English at UBS?

Upper right has a choice to "Select Language". I have had a few occasions when it has been missing, but most of the times it is there.

That's the Google Translate bar - might depend on the browser and its settings

Matches started around 16:05 JST, which is more or less the usual time these last few bashos, maybe 5 minutes max before the usual time. Once they used to start at 16:15 but lately, around 16:08 or so.First match recorded today at 16:06. I wouldn't remember this but the time stamps..

Hmmm. Had never seen it before the new logon started. I thought it was part of the site, but I now see it has the little Google logo.

I don't know where it's from, but it's been there for a little while now - I've been making use of it for 2-3 broadcast basho. It's a dropdown list - click to select your language, and, at least for English, a surprising amount of the page's text is no longer in Mongolian.

It appears as if UBS has switched to a paid subscription service to view its archives. The live broadcast remains free. We may need the services of a Mongolian speaker to provide us with some details on the subscription procedure/cost..

From Google translater:

нэвтрэх = Log in

шинээр бүртгүүлэх = Register new

for more Mongolian texts:

if you choose identify language = Mongolian,

you will get a virtual keyboard with the Cyrillic letters

UBS normally does not start sumo coverage until makuuchi has started. Coverage normally starts at about 16:05 JST (15:05 Mongolian).

Maybe it was on my end (Internet speed, hardware, etc.) but UBS OnAir streaming got stuck every 30 seconds this morning.

Hope this improves once they change to a (low cost) pay per view system.

Same here, so it wasn't a problem on your side. I tried to pay for access to the archive a couple of days ago, but the transaction wouldn't go through. The cost is peanuts, but if you can't even get the money to them, that's a pain in the arse. I'll try again.

Mongol TV station UBS seems to have implemented the pay wall for their internet services now.

Just tried to do a test run and when I logged in, this instruction screen in cyrillic appeared.

I guess it says

4900 MNT for 30 days access (1 USD = 2000 MNT)

9000 MNT for 30 days (maybe with better streaming quality?)

Can anyone help / confirm the content and walk us through the registration steps?

many thanks in advance!

2-3 USD per basho (Makuuchi live coverage) would be a steal compared to the NSK offer!

Ok, now I can get online TV streaming as before - let's see how it will be in a few hours during the Shonichi Makuuchi division broadcast.
