Raishu 208 Posted March 16, 2014 Day 9 West Jonokuchi 14 HARADA (1-3, fusen day 8) has withdrawn from the tournament. Injured his left leg on day 3 against Kotaro (my personal guess is a damaged ligament in his knee - a good way to start your Ozumo career ... :-|)

kuroimori 1,634 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) As I couldn't see Osh being injured, I tend to assume that Kotooshu decided to retire, finishing his career against Hakuho? Edited March 19, 2014 by kuroimori
kuroimori 1,634 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) As I couldn't see Osh being injured, I tend to assume that Kotooshu decided to retire, finishing his career against Hakuho? Well, when Osh's kyujo was announced on the NHK broadcast a short while ago, some sort of injury was in fact mentioned, didn't catch what injury though. Masumasumasu 902 Posted March 19, 2014 Osuna will be fine. His style of sumo is not conducive to injury in the slightest.
sekitori 492 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) Osuna will be fine. His style of sumo is not conducive to injury in the slightest. That statement makes no sense. Considering that rikishis take part in an activity where they face extremely strong people weighing an average of around 160 kg who try to push, slap, and throw them to the ground, the risk of injury is always present--regardless of the style of sumo used. If Osunaarashi's "style of sumo is not conducive to injury in the slightest", why did he get hurt? Edited March 20, 2014 by sekitori
