But the football (soccer) World Cup 2014 in Brazil is nigh (if they finish building the stadiums.), so time to start thinking about the Bench World Cup. [Two summers ago I visited the Manaus stadium (still being built), deep in the centre of the Amazonian jungle. It was VERY hot and VERY humid - no place to play any sport.... Oh, that is where England will face Italy in their first match.... Good thinking ;-)] Rules will follow at some stage in the near-ish future (probably May). But..... There are only 32 places available to play this (popularish) game. Put your name in the thread below to guarantee your place ;-) First come, first served. I usually get asked if 'friends' (who are not interested in sumo, but like football/soccer) of players can take part. Well, not yet. We want sumo gamers/fans if at all possible. I am more of a baseball man, but I enjoy soccer (as we provincials call it) too -- even saw a quarterfinal when the cup was in the US. So count me in!
