Hi!

This is not (quite) my intended line-up. It should be Ned ET in 7th slot, and Ned 1st in 9th slot. I have just checked the PM that I sent you, and I can see the confusion. I had Ned ET in twice (in 7th and 9th, by accident), and you followed the pattern that I had for the other two teams in my squad. But this is wrong. Kick-off has not started yet, so please accept the change (and give me a yellow card for making a mistake.)

Semi-droning rules, would remove the second instant of a repeat line-up, and replace with any 'team' left in my squad. So, following that, the team that I PM'ed you should be changed anyway to how I want it. :-)

(It is 4 am here - very tired!)

Nah, at 5-0 it's pretty much past the riot stage and straight into national depression, I reckon...

Err, one question - why are the semifinal matches composed differently here than they are in the real World Cup?

7-0... holy smoke. Let's hope the referee keeps things under control between the players. Big applause to the Brazil fans, btw, for staying through this massacre, but I wonder what the reaction among the populace will be.

Would someone please explain to me why Muller is still in the match at this point (81:00)? (edit add - I see Germany made its 3rd substitution at 76:00, so he isn't coming out.) Is there any legitimate reason, aside from possibly padding his statistics?

They shouldn't be.... It should follow the same pattern.

What is the mistake?

Edit:

Oh $%$##$$$#$!

Asashosakari is 100% correct. These are the wrong match-ups.

My sincerest apologies.to all, especially the refiojis. But I have to go to bed now, as I need to be going to work in about 90 minutes, and need sleep.

If someone with more brains than me can work out the correct match-ups, please do so - and also mention who the refiojis should be for the *correct* match-ups.

Again, I am very, very, very sorry.

Bowl match - refioji Nekonishiki - Day 1 Update

ScreechingOwl has both today's teams, but I bet he expected something else. No extra time, a draw in Slot 1. Chain is broken only in Slot 7.

Unfortunately (as mentioned above) - this is the wrong match-up.

Please can refiojis hold off with their results until the mess (my fault) is sorted out.

Correct matchups, if I'm not mistaken:

World Cup SF:

Andonishiki - Kaiomitsuki [Ref: Doitsuyama/Jakusotsu]

Saruyama - Domichi [Ref: Jakusotsu/Doitsuyama]

World Plate SF:

shimodahito - kuroimori [Ref: Pandaazuma/Saruyama]

chishafuwaku - Furanohana [Ref: Saruyama/Pandaazuma]

World Bowl SF:

ScreechingOwl - Rubensan [Ref: Nekonishiki/Achiyama]

Maguroyama - Kotononami [Ref: Achiyama/Nekonishiki]

World Saucer SF:

Jejima - Achiyama [Ref: shimodahito]

Daineko - Pitinosato [Ref: shimodahito]

I suppose the easiest fix to the Ref assignments will be if each affected pair of refs just communicates with each other to decide who's going to handle which re-assigned match...

Andonishiki - Kaiomitsuki [Ref: Doitsuyama]

World Saucer SF:
Jejima - Achiyama [Ref: shimodahito]

COMMENTS
andonishiki (Mexico): we're leaving on the dream...
Fifth win in a row, but boy - that was a tough one. 1-0.... like so many close games in Brazil. The two South American giants vs the Krauts & oranje Elftal with the best jumping actor in the pitch... Arjen R.
This is so tough to predict, both games could go either way, I see no favorite whatsoever in 1st, 2nd or ET. But I'd love to see a final GER vs ARG again,
sorry selecão. GER vs NED wont happen, coz this this Latin soil...
game kick-off is 4am here in Singapore, outch. Deuuuut-SCHLAAAAAAND !!!
Will i catch up with Klose & Ronaldo at the Golden Boot competition ??
Let's have heavy, but fair fight, Mr Saruyama. GO SAKURA
Kaiomitsuki (Iran): Rod Stewart feat. Nicoletta with special guest Sergio Mendes : ""Taj Mahal/Fio Maravilha/Pais Tropical""
Refioji Pregame: Both players had a good pre-basho selection and all teams left. Both believe in Argentina and Germany, so placement will be decisive - Kaiomitsuki is more offensive putting the ET at the end.
Refioji MbM:
Tue: Kaoimitsuki storms out of the gate, rolling over andonishiki's defensive lineup with possibly one and maybe even two goals in the first three slots. But then he breaks already in slot 4, conceding a goal back. We will see tomorrow if the initial blow will be enough (or if slot 1 is already decisive).

Chishafuwaku vs Furanohana (Plate Match):

Chishfuwaku:

1. Brazil 2nd, 2. Brazil 1st, 3. Netherlands ET ®, 4. Brazil ET, 5. Netherlands 2nd ®, 6. Netherlands 1st ®, 7. Argentina ET (E2), 8. Argentina 2nd (E2), 9. Argentina 1st (E2)

vs

Furanohana:

1. Netherlands 1st (E1), 2. Brazil 2nd, 3. Netherlands 2nd (E1), 4. Argentina 2nd (E2), 5. Netherlands ET (E1), 6. Argentina 1st (E2), 7. Argentina ET (E2), 8. Brazil 1st, 9. Brazil ET

Referee comments: Results now being corrected to fix my mistake after fixing the lineup mistake. Yet nothing can fix Brazil's mistakes and the mistakes of those who placed them high. A Netherlands good performance in the first half and this one is over.

That is all for now.

It's uncanny how Saruyama and Domichi have identical picks in four slots. Nothing decided yet, but it looks like Saruyama will be rooting for Argentina while Domichi wears orange.

I find strange to have another opponent after the half-time of the semi-finales (Scratching chin...) !

Error is human....

If the matchups error was find before the start of Brazil-Germany, yes of course It was normal to change the matchups but after this match is over I find that It's strange...

Like for the real Bench Sumo, I create my line-up after watching the squad from my opponent.... Domichi's line-up was only a 9 teams squad... and without Argentina in his squad I try to win some points with this team....

I'm sure that If I know before the start of Brazil-Germany that my opponent was Andonishiki I create my line-up another way...

Imagine that a rikishi know that tomorrow he will fight a light rikishi and he will prepare his fight with an Oshidashi tactics.... but when he arrives on the Dohyo his opponent is Gagamaru... what else will he decides lol ;-) !!!?

Ok I'm not the master of the game.....but it's my thought ;-) .... There is something not fair (Sigh...) Errare humanum est....

Yesterday I hope that Argentina will be well but now for tonight I should hope that Netherlands will win in ET (Laughing...)

Thanks for the game Alexandre aka Kaiomitsuki

Shimodahito:

1.Argentina (2nd)

2.Argentina (ET)

3.Germany (E1) (1st)

4.Argentina (1st)

5.Germany (E1) (2nd)

6.Netherlands (E2) (ET)

7.Germany (E1) (ET)

8.Netherlands (E2) (2nd)

9.Netherlands (E2) (1st)

Kuroimori:

1. Netherlands ET (E2)

2. Germany ET (E1)

3. Germany 1st (E1)

4. Netherlands 2nd (E2)

5. Brazil 2nd

6. Netherlands 1st (E2)

7. Brazil ET

8. Germany 2nd (E1)

9. Brazil 1st

Shimodahito will be gutted about Jejima's line-up error as he'd have had this match in the bag already but he's in a fight here now. An Argentina win would wrap it up for him, though...we shall see. Kuroimori's chain is broken at 5 but it doesn't make much difference really; he is a Netherlands fan this evening.

Honored Rijicho,

as a manager, it's your job to prepare your team for the next game.

You find out your next opponent, then you analyse.

Then you put your team together...

If your opponent changes when your team is already on the pitch, that's not considered a fair game, is it ??

I expected my friend and Sakura mate Saruyama...

I know his style so I put my team up accordingly..

but now ?? he's fighting another guy and me too...

maybe the outcome will be the same, but still...

I hope that you overrule the change of semifinal bout changes...

or at least provide a decent explanation in the set of rules

thank you

cheers andonishiki

Once again, my sincerest apologies. But it is rule #4 (see below). I made a mistake. (And this is probably the biggest mistake of many that I made this tournament.) For some reason, I just assumed that the whole thing was set up so that the first semi-final would be between the original groups of A-D, and the second to be between groups E-H. I did not bother to check, which I should have done.

4. Players will take the place of their ® teams as per the official World Cup 2014 groups, and the later stages rules. They will compete against other players, head-to-head, as per the World Cup 2014. Therefore all players will know in advance who their first three opponents will be, for the group stages.

Bowl match - refioji Nekonishiki
(the corrected match)

ScreechingOwl (Australia) vs Rubensan (South Korea)

ScreechingOwl

1. Germany [E1] (ET)
2. Netherlands [E2] (ET)
3. Brazil (ET)
4. Germany [E1] (2)
5. Netherlands [E2] (2)
6. Germany [E1] (1)
7. Brasil (2)
8. Netherlands [E2] (1)
9. Brasil (1)

Comment: I'm very fortunate to be through this far, and am now facing an opponent with the team I have thought since after its first game in the opening round is most likely to win the Cup: Argentina. I didn't take Argentina as my E1 because I saw a sure Germany triumph over Algeria, and didn't take them as my E2 because I saw a sure Holland triumph over Costa Rica. So much for all that. Personally, I'd like to see Holland redeem 40 years of heartbreak, but I have my doubts. Good luck!

Rubensan

1. Argentina [E1] (ET)
2. Brazil (ET)
3. Argentina [E1] (2)
4. Brazil (2)
5. Argentina [E1] (1)
6. Brazil (1)
7. Netherlands (ET)
8. Netherlands (1)
9. Netherlands (2)

Comment:

My opponent ® team is Argentina, which is more of a disadvantage than an advantage for him, since a draw is the most likely result for a half match. Also he doesn't have Brazil, so he will be rooting for European teams, while I am relying on south americans.

Nekonishiki comment: Rubensan gave the pre-torikumi interview far before the match began.
