Predicting right now that Ryuden (Jk14E) will return in time for the last match, embarass some kid half his size, and disappear again until the next basho, as he has been doing since January.

Amazing that there isn't a single kyujo in Makuuchi, Juryo and Makushita.

This means that the top 190 rikishi of the current banzuke will be active! quite impressive I think.

Yes, that is Ryuden's plan so he avoids banzuke gai.

Tokiarashi retired.. Surprised everyone just quit suddenly between the basho and cut his own hair... Disappointed a lot of the koenkai supporters as he was a heya favorite being the first rikishi to join Tokitsukaze after the hazing death of Tokitaizan

Is it really worth the one basho head start on starting back up from the bottom to make a mockery of the process by embarrassing some poor 0-6 or 1-5 kid on Day 13? The Kyokai should use their special torikumi powers to put Ryuden up against someone who will actually manage a serious fight with him. And it's almost 2 years since he's fought a full basho; how does anyone think he can recover if he hasn't by now? Did the one basho he had 3 matches in cause a different injury, or severely aggravate his original one to the point that it's required over a year of healing? It seems entirely dishonorable.

Yes, that is Ryuden's plan so he avoids banzuke gai.

That's obvious, but when is he going to try taking part from the beginning? If he has a problem, he can always go kyujo. There can't possibly be anything learned about his condition by facing one noob every 2 months down in Jonokuchi.

Thanks for the info about Tokiarashi.

ms6w TAKANOYAMA did not show up for his bout today.

Any news on him? It would be only the second time to go kyujo.

Hope he just missed the bus or fell asleep in the train...

Also, Jk12w Kotokimura has withdrawn (according to NSK website, where I assume this is being taken from)

I'm resetting the subject header on this, as I'm not going to be around much for the next few days. Certainly not enough to keep track of things daily. I hope people will continue to post news here!

That was already official the moment you saw it happen. Magic happens, but miracles not.

Not a doctor, but yeah, ruptured hamstring and also a non-specified ACL injury. And given that diagnosis, I second the "hmm".

No information what's wrong with Takanoyama?

NHK announced (again) that he injured the elbow at which he had an old injury.

If its ACL damage, I am afraid its perfectly possible that those 2 months will be exactly as long as Baruto's :( .

Lower division Day 7 stuff:

Jd94e Daiisshin joins the basho (missed scheduled Day 2 bout, was absent since for an 0-1-2 record)

Jk13e Imaizumi is out (1-2 record, fusenpai in last bout)

Late edit: On a side note, both are from the same stable (Asahiyama).
