Asashosakari 19,647 Posted July 24, 2014 Jk13e Imaizumi and Jk14e Ryuden are joining the basho on Day 13. That means former one-time juryo Hishofuji will drop off the banzuke (if he isn't retiring).
Fukurou 534 Posted July 24, 2014 Predicting right now that Ryuden (Jk14E) will return in time for the last match, embarass some kid half his size, and disappear again until the next basho, as he has been doing since January. Jk13e Imaizumi and Jk14e Ryuden are joining the basho on Day 13. ...
Asashosakari 19,647 Posted July 25, 2014 I should add that I overlooked that Imaizumi was actually active earlier in the basho, his record prior to his return is 1-2-3.

Yubinhaad 11,761 Posted July 26, 2014 Okinoumi is kyujo for Day 14 due to a thigh injury. Toyonoshima will get the free win, while Okinoumi will get his eighth loss and make-koshi.
Asashosakari 19,647 Posted July 26, 2014 Okinoumi is kyujo for Day 14 due to a thigh injury. Toyonoshima will get the free win, while Okinoumi will get his eighth loss and make-koshi.Stayed in until he was set to avoid demotion, I guess? At least it would be hard to believe it's a new injury, given his subpar performances this basho. I suppose Sagatsukasa will be the lucky makushitan to profit from it, presumably against Kizenryu or Wakanoshima.

Fukurou 534 Posted July 26, 2014 No information what's wrong with Takanoyama?NHK announced (again) that he injured the elbow at which he had an old injury. Intai? :-( Providing a link to the Takanoyama Retires thread.
Yubinhaad 11,761 Posted July 27, 2014 Unsurprisingly, Azumaryu is kyujo for senshuraku, according to Jiji he sustained medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligament damage in the right knee. Takarafuji gets the free win. Okinoumi is kyujo for Day 14 due to a thigh injury. By my count, Sagatsukasa becomes the eighth rikishi (how apt) to get the extra eighth bout on two occasions, and is the second active rikishi after Daishohama.
