Yubinhaad 11,761 Posted October 7, 2014 (edited) Kakuryu visited Tokyo's Tomioka Hachiman shrine today where his name was added to the Yokozuna monument there. He was originally supposed to perform a dohyo-iri, but there is currently an outbreak of the mosquito-borne dengue fever in Japan, so this was cancelled in order to avoid a much larger gathering of people. Here are a few pictures. Kakuryu, Rijicho Kitanoumi and other Kyokai directors make their way into the shrine for a blessing. Kakuryu poses for pictures at the Yokozuna monument. His name engraved on the monument, next to that of Harumafuji. Commemorative picture with his shisho Izutsu-oyakata, Rijicho Kitanoumi and the chief priest of the shrine. Among the other monuments at Tomioka Hachimangu is the Ozeki stone. Retired Ozeki Baruto and Kotooshu have now been added to that. Baruto on the far left of this line. And Kotooshu starts a new line. Kakuryu chats with the press. Waving farewell. Edited October 7, 2014 by Yubinhaad
