Kakuryu visits Tomioka Hachimangu

Recommended Posts

Kakuryu visited Tokyo's Tomioka Hachiman shrine today where his name was added to the Yokozuna monument there. He was originally supposed to perform a dohyo-iri, but there is currently an outbreak of the mosquito-borne dengue fever in Japan, so this was cancelled in order to avoid a much larger gathering of people. Here are a few pictures.

Kakuryu, Rijicho Kitanoumi and other Kyokai directors make their way into the shrine for a blessing.

Among the other monuments at Tomioka Hachimangu is the Ozeki stone. Retired Ozeki Baruto and Kotooshu have now been added to that.
