Also in the Juryo West dohyo-iri, Hidenoumi and Daieisho in their matching Saitama Sakae kesho-mawashi. Juryo East dohyo-iri. Kotoeko in that dohyo-iri. Yokozuna Hakuho's dohyo-iri. Chiyotairyu moves to 2-0 with an oshidashi win against Tamawashi, who drops to 0-2. Shohozan had no answer as Tokushoryu drove him back and out for the win, levelling their scores at 1-1. Endo throws the salt ahead of his bout against Okinoumi. Solid yotsu-zumo from Okinoumi as he gets his second win. Second loss for Endo. Sadanoumi had the better start in his bout against Tochinoshin, but his sotogake attempt wasn't successful... Tochinoshin then gained the upper hand and collected his 21st consecutive win. Ichinojo and Takarafuji shown during the shikiri ahead of their bout. The new Sekiwake gets his first win of the basho with a shitatenage. After brief resistance at the edge, Kotoshogiku forces Aoiyama out for his second win. Looks like Takekaze is about to lose, but Ozeki Goeido touched down first and falls to 0-2. Kisenosato throws the salt ahead of his bout with Ikioi. The Ozeki kept control of Ikioi in the bout and collected his second win. He leads their head-to-head 7-0. The kensho banners begin to circle the dohyo as Hakuho and Aminishiki prepare for their bout. The Yokozuna remained undefeated with an oshidashi win against the veteran. Harumafuji throws the salt ahead of his bout against Toyohibiki. Although Toyohibiki had the better start, Harumafuji quickly grabbed the belt and marched Toyohibiki out for his second win. Kakuryu performs chiri-chozu ahead of his bout with Tochiozan, the concluding bout of Day 2. Kakuryu was forced to take evasive action as Tochiozan had him on the run at the start, but the Yokozuna came back to win and remain undefeated.
