b01 4 Posted December 15, 2014 Who am I: My name is Khalifah (pronounced Cah - leaf - ah), I'm 36 years old. I live and work in Detroit Michigan. My introduction to Sumo: I first had interest when I saw something on CNN back in the 1980s. I got an even better idea about Sumo when I saw Larry King interview Takamiyama, Musashimaru, Akebono, and Konoshiki on CNN Live, and I think I was in highschool at the time. From there I was able to find a few things online, but back then, the internet wasn't what it is today. Some years, later in colledge I'd figured out how to get the video feed setup when Nihon Sumo Kyokai website would broadcast in on that special video setup they had. I had to say up until 3AM to watch, but I had a blast when I did. My thoughts on Sumo: Though I've watched sumo onccasionally over the years, it truely is my favorite sport. I would love to have studied hard to learn Japanese and the culture; and gone to Japan to attempt to be a professional sumo wrestler. But at least I get to enjoy the talent of these awesome sportsmen. Someday I plan to visit Japan and attend a grand tournament. 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
