I am using it on my iphone. Is there way to watch the bouts in one flow. It is pain in a.. to go every time to torikumi. Otherwise it is quite nice, i will keep it.

I don't know, in Ameruca it's $4.99 a month....I think that's a great deal considering how much were they trying to charge online to watch the streM? Like fifty bucks a basho???? I'm contemplating getting it because if u shut it off every other month and use it just for basho it's $30a year...that's a steal IMO

Here I am, late for the party again.

I just discovered this app and absolutely love it. Have it on my iPhone and iPad, and for a few bucks a month (compared to the ridiculous stream cost, or even paying for the japan TV channel on cable for $20/month, it's worth it, I think. The videos are HD, and you can replay them as often as you want.

Considering where this comes from, I'd say the Kyokai finally got something right.

(Still not anywhere as entertaining as Moti's videos, for which there will never be a replacement.)

The main issue that it still has, though, is that the results are in plain view, and the snapshot tends to show the moment of kimarite as well. The videos are also highlight-length, so Jason's channel still tends to be better for seeing full HD recaps.

If Moti ever wanted to retire from his "duty" and hand the reins over to something globally accessible like the app, it would at least need a spoiler-free digest mode for watching. Still, I love the app and have been gladly paying for it since the first month it came out.

I don't know. I heard Moti doesn't even read Japanese...how good could his videos be?

I have been dying to retire from my "duty" for a long time, as much as I love doing it. If anyone is willing to take over the reins, I would gladly put myself out to pasture. I'm doing this mostly because nobody else is..

The app will be showing snippets from Wakanosato and Kyokutenhou's careers starting tomorrow. 22 installments.

There are 3,561 bouts between them. Even eliminating the 39 times they faced each other, 'snippets' is right.

Big fan of Kyokutenho, and have a great respect for Wakanosato, but neither was exactly Mainoumi's successor when it came to technique. Out of those 3,561 bouts I doubt there are a couple of hundred worth revisiting for anything other than historical value.

The app apparently now again allows to watch all makuuchi bouts as video once a day for free, not just one.

Has anyone tried the NSK mobile phone Sumo site? http://pc.dwango.jp/services/show/sumo.html

Also operated by Dwango and also only for makuuchi videos. Definitely needs a registration in Japan but then maybe usable worldwide like the app.

A report about that would be interesting.
