Amakaze's birthday is July 7th which also heralds the start of Tanabata (Star Festival) celebrations in Japan; the 'Ama' in his new shikona is therefore taken from Amanogawa (Milky Way). Abi, formerly Horikiri, with his shisho Shikoroyama-oyakata (former Sekiwake Terao). Apparently "Abi" is a nickname that the shisho has had since he was a child, so he has given this version of it to his latest sekitori. Ishiura, still Ishiura, with his shisho Miyagino-oyakata (former Maegashira Chikubayama). He is the first shin-Juryo from Tottori prefecture since 1962 Nagoya, when Kotozakura (later the 53rd Yokozuna) made his debut.
