Finally I found this thread again - thought there would be a thread titled "Sumo App by NSK" or something like that.

(Dear Mods, can this topic have its own thread?)

Anyway, after trying the free version last basho, I still think the paid version (tanimachi) is overpriced, given the fact that only video of Makuuchi bouts are included.

I would reconsider if all bouts from all divisions - including maezumo - of all tournaments would be available to watch at any time.

I've done the paid version a few times when it was $5. I see now that it's up to $7. The important thing is to cancel the subscription after the basho, so you don't pay for the off months. Personally, I really enjoy watching the lower divisions, so this app is not really for me. The app itself is alright: it's fairly intuitive, though a play all feature would be nice. And more divisions. When I subscribed before, the videos were literally from the tachi-ai to the win and then cut. I just checked out the replay for the playoff match from Aki and it appears they've lengthened the videos substantially from before.

To sum: it's not the best way to view sumo, but if you're only interested in the top division, it's certainly one of the easiest and reliable.

Anyone have any idea why the Grand Sumo app is not available in the UK?
