Kintamayama 44,908 Posted August 4, 2015 (edited) Oguruma Oyakata jungyo man is not happy with the top guys' participation in keiko at the jungyo. Today in Gifu,Terunofuji was there. Very much so, having 9 bouts against the likes of Sadanoumi and winning them all. Then, he lent his chest to 19 year old Juryo Oonoshou who was not a no-show but actually showed up. Second day of the jungyo and still most of the guys were not showing up. "It's really funny when missing these training sessions becomes the norm. The people are coming out here to see us train .." said Terunofuji. Hakuhou was there as was Tochiouzan. The three Japanese Ozeki were not. "If the guys don't start to train seriously during the jungyo, it will be over before they realize it. At this rate, Hakuhou is going to take the yusho again.." warned Oguruma sternly. Terunofuji showing Oonoshou his boots, and no, it's not Houmashou in the background. Edited August 6, 2015 by Kintamayama

Kintamayama 44,908 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) Ozeki Terunofuji took on the faltering Ichinojou yesterday at training, doing bouts and lending him his chest in an attempt to "wake him up" from his deep slumber.. They both arrived in Japan together 5 years ago and went to the famed Tottori Johoku high school. Terunofuji was dead serious during the training "If he has no wish to do it he will never become stronger. If you go easy on him, it won't be good," said Terunofuji. On the third day of the jungyo- Terunofuji is the only Ozeki/ Yokozuna who showed up every day. "That's normal.." he said. Oguruma jungyo head is not happy. "The Yokozunae should be aware of their status and show up!" he said, rather annoyed. inhashi 2,363 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) Reported on Aug 7 by Sports Hochi, Wakanosato is temporarily out with conjunctivitis, but says that he should recover in time to participate in Aomori. Looks like several from Sadogatake beya including Kotoyuki have also been infected and is likely to spread. Signs have been posted in the preparation rooms to alert rikishi. It appears to have started in Nagoya with Isegahama beya and has become 'epidemic'. Oguruma oyakata has ordered medication to be sent from Tokyo to treat those affected.
