They do for me.

Ryoshishokunin 291 Posted July 21, 2016 On MacOS X (El Capitan)/Chrome, I'm getting font substitutions on everything except Courier New--to something other than a fixed-width font. Safari on OS X and Safari on iPhone have the same behaviour.
Fukurou 534 Posted July 21, 2016 All good for me, running Win 7 and Firefox. Terunofuji's win-loss record appears to be centered rather than aligned for all fonts.

Jakusotsu 5,981 Posted July 21, 2016 Hmmm....looking at it at my home computer with essentially the same configuration as in the office, Lucida Sans Typewrite appears in italics now.

Safari on OS X and Safari on iPhone have the same behaviour.Sadly, my sum total experience with OS X is nil. Is there a way for you to pull up a list of the installed fonts on the system? I can't quite believe that Courier New would be the only available fixed-width option. Or maybe it's a browser/OS-specific issue in how IP.Board's engine interprets the FONT BBcode, but then I'd normally expect that to fail with Courier New, as well... Trying something else: 9-2 Hakuho Y1 Kakuryu 2-2-7 9-2 Harumafuji Y2 9-2 Kisenosato O1 Kotoshogiku 1-6-4 6-5 Goeido O2 Terunofuji 6-5 9-2 Hakuho Y1 Kakuryu 2-2-7 9-2 Harumafuji Y2 9-2 Kisenosato O1 Kotoshogiku 1-6-4 6-5 Goeido O2 Terunofuji 6-5 9-2 Hakuho Y1 Kakuryu 2-2-7 9-2 Harumafuji Y2 9-2 Kisenosato O1 Kotoshogiku 1-6-4 6-5 Goeido O2 Terunofuji 6-5 The first version is expressly defined as Lucida Console, the last one as Courier New - the middle one includes both definitions (Lucida first, followed by Courier). Does that make your browser ignore the Lucida statement and use Courier New instead, or does it still fall back to a variable-width font?
Ryoshishokunin 291 Posted July 22, 2016 The middle is falling back to Courier New, as it should. Having a rummage around, your font-family specifications don't include any fallbacks (except for the middle one here), so if the specified fonts are missing it falls back to... who knows? The user's system font, presumably? I don't recognize the typeface offhand, but it doesn't match the default font on sumoforum. Having a look, lucida console is not a default font bundled with iOS or OS X. Courier new is, though."monospace" is the font-family that should result in something that works on all systems, though between lucida and courier you should catch nearly everyone these days. Thanks! I don't recognize the typeface offhand, but it doesn't match the default font on sumoforum.I don't have a clue then - I'd have expected it to fall back on the regular forum default, treating it as though the font bbcode tag isn't there at all. The main reason I don't have any fallbacks in there (besides laziness) is that until now I'd never actually had cause to try if that's even supported by the forum engine, or if it would simply ignore any additional specifications. For me: Windows 10: same as Naganoyama Android: same as Ryoshishokunin Yeah, that reminds me that I've seen my tables fall apart on my Android phone, too. On the other hand, it does fall back on the default forum font there... "monospace" is the font-family that should result in something that works on all systems, though between lucida and courier you should catch nearly everyone these days. That's a good shout. I'll add that on today's standings update in a few minutes, let me know if it works. (Presumably displaying in Courier New, assuming that's the monospace default in your browser.)
