robnplunder 976 Posted September 23, 2016 Shohozan ... that was ugly. Maybe, the planets are lining up for Endo. Tomorrow, it's Gagamaru vs Gagamaru wannabe (aka Amakaze).

robnplunder 976 Posted September 23, 2016 A tale of two rikishi for Oki at Aki.
Jyuunomori 226 Posted September 23, 2016 (edited) Okinoumi is the most polarizing rikishi this basho. From his results we must determine that Sanyaku and both Yokozuna actually suck. The real talent is in Maegashira... ...But really though. Did the pressure get him so much? If someone said to me that Okinoumi goes to 7-1 defeating both Yokozuna and 3 Ozeki and then choke to an extend that Makekoshi looks certain I would not have believed him. Dammit Okinoumi, playing with muh emoshions. Also Shodai lost today, next basho whe will KK till he is Maegashira 2 again. Then he MK's again...for a year or two before becoming Ozeki. robnplunder 976 Posted September 23, 2016 Just looking at his face, Yoshikaze deserves every yen he gets.
Jyuunomori 226 Posted September 23, 2016 Takayasu is out of the race now. Yusho race ends, Ozeki race begins.
gijo 27 Posted September 23, 2016 Mitakeumi is doing great and I really like his sumo. He kept pushing from a lower position since the tachiai never giving Takayasu a chance of changing position. Well done! Mitakeumi should be the next ozeki!!!!
robnplunder 976 Posted September 23, 2016 (edited) That was unexpected win by Mitakeumi. Loved it! He will face the top rikishi in the next basho for sure, and likely to get a machikoshi like Shodai in Aki. Edited September 23, 2016 by robnplunder
Jyuunomori 226 Posted September 23, 2016 Just noticed Mitakeumi is gonna be Sanyaku next basho. If Okinoumi KK's he will probably be a Komusubi, but if Okinoumi MK's he could be promoted to Sekiwake. Aoiyama is in a similar situation, Mitakeumi has one more win than he does however. If Okinoumi doesn't KK then even Chiyonokuni or Tamawashi have changes. Giku retains his Ozeki title. Kisenosato is officially completely out of the race, both of them. He has to start the Tsuna run from the beginning.
kuroimori 1,634 Posted September 23, 2016 Kise that Tsuna run goodbye...

robnplunder 976 Posted September 23, 2016 Okay, no jun-yusho for Kisenosato this time. Instead, Takayasu vs Endo winner tomorrow may get a piece of jun-yusho.
gijo 27 Posted September 23, 2016 Kisenosato has definitely lost his confidence in being Yokozuna after this basho. He's (just) a great Ozeki.

Jyuunomori 226 Posted September 23, 2016 (edited) No way is Goeido gonna lose to Tamawashi tomorrow. We have a new Yusho winner. Holy crap. I just jinx'd it. Also Goeido won by using his divine technique, Kubinage. Could not have gone better. Edited September 23, 2016 by Jyuunomori

Jyuunomori 226 Posted September 23, 2016 But yeah, I guess Goeido has been doing some speshul torainingu. I mean this, this! Comes from a Kadoban Ozeki. I am happy for Goeido, was a fan of Sekiwake Goeido. Is that one finally coming back?
Wurstbroetchen 5 Posted September 23, 2016 Goeido on a Yokozuna-run! That is the best joke I ever heard.
orandashoho 720 Posted September 23, 2016 If someone would have told me that the only one who could prevent Goeido from getting the yusho is Endo, I would have said he was crazy.
