The rules are very simple. You need to create a stable of sumo GAMERS. This stable will come from the final 2016 Sumo Game World Championship standings, which can be found here:

Is it possible to choose players of rank range 201+ who have not scored in the last year?

Yeah!  You can even choose Elvis Presley in that category if you like! ;)

1-5  Kitakachiyama - No one chooses you? I have confidence in you.

6-10  chishafuwaku - I can not bet against you.

11-20   Sokkenaiyama - You are at the end of this group but in the next year you will be in the top 10 (at least)

21-40   Tenshinhan - Big Mawashi champion. It's time for you to attack the top places.

41-80   Suwihuto - Fusen Lucky winner. Next year your luck (read knowledge) will grow...

81-120  Anjoboshi - In this group you was the one who scored in more games. Continues like this and if possible play more.

121-200  Benihana - I see you participate in this forum with enthusiasm. Do it also in games and we'll both be happy.

201+   Kishikaisei - I know you and I can teach you (unfortunately you play little)

I'm not sure that's entirely wise.

The first edition of Fantasy Metasumo 2017 is available at the link below.

In contrast to earlier years, the best possible selection is already waaaay ahead of the best actual selection. That being said, Sakura takes the lead in the standings, closely followed by Mmikasazuma and Jakusotsu. Interestingly, none of these three had Hatsu Masters winner Susanoo in their squad.

Moreover, the difference between gaming and meta-gaming can be discerned by looking at the bottom of the standings. Quite a number of strong gamers can be found there.

Early days yet, Chisha!  Remember that Doitsuyama had over 100 points in Hatsu last year...and Konosato, who ended up with 180 points, only got six! ;)

Thanks as always, Rando.  Much appreciated!
