Gurowake 4,061 Posted March 29, 2017 My analysis told me I had gotten lucky in the past couple years, and I'm regressing to the mean. Rather, the results are actually more volatile than they used to be, making up for the lack of historical volatility in the Hakuho years, and that's why Susanoo has been doing so well as he's better at picking up volatility, while my system is very heavily weighted toward past performances since that's what, in the long run, matters more according to the analysis I've done. But in times like these, it's going to struggle, and I'm not in the least surprised; I was far more surprised by my 3rd and 2nd the previous two years than my near-skunking the last two basho. I also didn't want to commit to playing daily games this basho since it's the busiest month of the year and I might have needed to work 16 hour days. It didn't happen, but it might have.
