He'll be a no-show for day 1, but he won't show up on the NSK kyujo list for day 1 (past the deadline and on the torikumi). He'll be on that list for day 2 or day 3, depending on when they make it official.

Akinomaki 40,328 Posted March 12, 2017 (edited) Gyoji kyujo: From the (cursed?) new(?) Nakagawa-beya, makuuchi gyoji Shikimori Yonokichi is kyujo since day 1 because of poor health. http://www.jiji.com/jc/article?k=2017031200350&g=spo He was told by the doctors on the 24th last month that he needs 4 weeks of rest. http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/20170312/sum17031219040012-n1.html The heya was staying at the old Kasugayama-beya location, the building of the ex-oyakata of Yonokichi, who just died (Kasugafuji) - further information withheld by the family. I haven't heard anything about which permanent location the heya has/will have. Edited March 13, 2017 by Akinomaki

Tiger Tanaka 225 Posted March 16, 2017 Very unfortunate. He didn't look in good form and the foot had to be hampering him. I'm sure the tough decision on day 4 didn't help.

MumboJumbo 37 Posted March 16, 2017 Kaisei is back?? I guess he doesn't want to drop too far. Hakuho clearly had trouble generating any meaningful power. I hope we can get one basho with four healthy yokozunae.
