UDH Natsu Basho 2017

Recommended Posts

Hello gamers,

the UDH entry form is ready now and waiting for your selections. Rules in a (very small) nutshell: Guess the thirteen makuuchi rikishi you expect to have the fewest wins this basho.

You may submit your entry at http://udh.seisa.de/udh_index.html.

Once you have selected your team, please root for them as much as you can. The game was not intended to honor any failure, but to stimulate interest in the less successful rikishi.

The deadline for your entries will be the first day of the basho (Sunday, May 14th) at 12pm Japanese Time.

Good luck!

Notable record(s) put up by the Kokonoe duo of Chiyonokuni and Chiyoshoma.

- Both have got the same number of points (274). Not so unusual? Sure, but certainly for two rikishi who both have got more than 4 points on average. Both get 4.28 points per participant.

- Chiyonokuni is the first one ever to appear in every line-up.

How are kinboshi scored?  Are they scored for the yokozuka or against the rikishi who defeats him?

There are no kinboshi or ginboshi bonuses in this game.  Just wins and losses.

This is the game where you pick rikishi who you think will lose.

I understand that.  But since Hoshi has bonuses for kinboshi, I was expecting UDH had a similar rule, and with some of the yokozunae being so battered, I thought Kisenosato especially made a reasonable pick.  WIthout kinboshi being considered, there's no reason to pick a yokozuna.

I picked Kisenosato because I gambled he would leave after Day 2 and have a terrible record because of it. I was wrong.
