UDH Natsu Basho 2018

Recommended Posts

Hello gamers,

the UDH entry form is ready now and waiting for your selections. Rules in a (very small) nutshell: Guess the thirteen makuuchi rikishi you expect to have the fewest wins this basho.

You may submit your entry at http://udh.seisa.de/udh_index.html.

Once you have selected your team, please root for them as much as you can. The game was not intended to honor any failure, but to stimulate interest in the less successful rikishi.

The deadline for your entries will be the first day of the basho (Sunday, May 13th) at 12pm Japanese Time.

Good luck!

NOTE: Could not yet update all the other stuff, e.g. UDH banzuke for the Natsu Basho. That will be posted on the first day of the basho.

@just_some_guy and everyone else:

Oh (please insert three colourful Bavarian curses of your choice here)... The grabber obviously mixed up two names at the end of the alphabetical list.

Won‘t bevable to change that bug this week, so all PLEASE SELECT TSURUGISHO IF YOU WANT YUTAKAYAMA IN YOUR TEAM. I will adjust your selection accordingly.

Thanks for running UDH!

As of now, there is no Natsu Banzuke on the Web pages. Could you update it, please?

@WAKATAKE Just not-submit your entry. If you have taken part last basho, an automatic kosho will be granted.

PS: Thanks for your versatility. 41 (38 in points, 3 alternate) out of 58 players used the "Tsurugisho joker".

Added two numbers for clarification.

From the 4+ points list:

21. Daieisho (2017/05, M3e) 4,828
...
26. Daieisho (2018/05, M3e) 4,776

At this rate he'll avoid making the 4+ list in a joi appearance by Natsu 2033. ;-)

I can see why but I didn't pick him to do badly this basho. I'm a little stunned Abi wasn't 4+. I expect him to get crushed.

Do you not automatically generate a yusho tiebreaker report?  I trust that it's coded right based on the rules as given, but it would be nice to see exactly how they were applied, even if the information could be found elsewhere.  (For those who don't want to read it elsewhere, the first tiebreaker is number of losses, and that was a tie this time.  The second tiebreaker is the most number of points on any day, and if that's tied, the number of times they scored those points, and if that's tied, the second-highest score per day, then number of times they scored the second-highest, then the third highest, etc. If those are all tied, whoever had the best day *earliest* is the winner, and then down through the other highest scoring days.  If they managed to score the exact same number of points each day, then it's roshambo.   I'm not going to look through each day to see how far the tiebreakers went down.)

Semi-automatically. The report showed the correct tiebreaker but I really managed to pick the wrong person and didn't bother to check again before sending.

Actually Andonishiki is the winner by the second tiebreaker (highest personal daily score(s)). His 34 on day 9 beat Just_Some_Guy's 33 on day 3.
