Manekineko 200 Posted December 26, 2002 What kind of food do you eat in your countries at Christmas? I can't speak for population in general, but here's a sample of my family's Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day lunch. Since Christmas Eve is a 'meatless' fast day in Catholic Church, the dinner is traditionaly fish and seafood. Traditionaly we're supposed to eat codfish, but my mom doesn't like it, and so we have other types of fish, all white-fleshed. For those who don't like picking their way through fish-bones, there's filled squid, and shelfish with rice or pasta. Due to already forgotten reasons, we always have tuna-pate as appetizer. Of course, (white) wine flows freely. Christmas lunch then consits of all the meat you couldn't eat the previous day. Turkey with a sort of gnocchi, or roast pork, veal or lamb also with gnocchi, with cooked ham as appetizer, and really too much of everything. And cakes on both days. In huge quantities. When I consider the ammount of food eaten by my (extended) family in the last two days, it's certainly enough to feed a mediocre heya. :D
