GTB Natsu May 2019-invitation and final results

Recommended Posts

Please play GTB. It's a good game. With algorithm, sans algorithm, just play. From this basho on there will be a small entrance fee to cover my costs.* Thank you and good luck.

*-Lie.

Rules: Guess the Banzuke. Simple. You get two points for a bulls-eye and one point for just getting the rank right. You get no points for eating with your mouth full. Tiebreakers - Most total guesses, then we check the banzuke backwards - getting the lower half right will be important.  The most correct guesses in the last ten places will win the tiebreaker. If still tied , we go up a ranking at a time like a penalty shootout. It's up to you to check if you are on the list of entries. It's going to be your fault if you don't notice that your entry went missing in the Internet void. No late entries will be expected or accepted.

Deadline- Tuesday, April 23rd, 2018  at 18:00 GMT ("Great Moves, Takakeishou!") - PLEASE NOTE-THIS IS ONE WEEK BEFORE THE OFFICIAL BANZUKE ANNOUNCEMENT !!

Special thanks to Andoreasu who runs it, Doitsuyama who automates and maintains it  and to the YDC for clapping correctly.

I ended up dropping Chiyoshoma in favor of keeping Ikioi. Also joining him on my list were Chiyonokuni, Toyonoshima, Ishiura, Yutakayama.

I have little to no confidence about the bottom five ranks (what a shocker), but I think it's balanced overall with maybe one guy I underdemoted quite badly, although it was that or overpromoting/underdemoting a bunch of other guys.

I did too, though I suspect that was picking with my heart rather than my brain.

Probably did terribly again this time but in my defence this game is haaaaaard.

my main issue is the Q if sanyaku rikishi will be reduced to 8 or stay at 9...

if only 8, then there must be a M17w...

that cud be the only rescue for Ganbaatar at M17e and his 7-8 mk. but i hope for a newbie instead !

There will be 9 Sanyaku. 2 Yokozuna. 3 Ozeki. 2 Sekiwake. 2 Komusubi. That means 33 Maegashira. M17e will be last man in Makuuchi.

Early entry for me.......

Disastrous results seem to come easy to me these days..... ;-)

Would anyone like a piece of virtual coffee cake?

Theres plenty to go round.......

Well, I completely winged it, and I mean completely.  Which means I will be tremendously lucky just to KK this basho. But I'm in. Good luck everybody!!!!

Looks like there are 90 entries at this point which seem pretty good to me. (Applauding...)

As I wrote from the start,  I had a good  feeling. Still, the news of Feginowaka's passing casts a huge cloud over this basho.

94 entries. A very difficult lower half. A lot of entries.

Second highest total in almost 10 years. (Zabutonflying...)

I guess we need to watch for @Asashosakari He seems to do well when the total players are higher than usual.
