Arawashi intai

Recommended Posts

I only really noticed Arawashi after his return to juryo, and what struck me was that he didn't look much like the other sumo wrestlers. He looked more like some modestly fit salaryman with only a little paunch who accidentally wandered into the shitakubeya looking for an autograph, was handed a mawashi and told he was up next, and he said, "Oh, okay." And since he won and nobody told him otherwise, he just kept showing up.

Which is the long way of saying, "Damn, he looks good in that suit."

He appears to have lost a lot of weight very quickly after announcing his retirement. Must be very self disciplined. I wonder if he has a personal trainer to help with whatever regimen he’s been on.

He was not heavy to begin with, and he seemed to gain muscle with the fat.  One of those guys who's naturally thin; probably had trouble keeping the weight on when wrestling.

Arawashi! I don't remember reading about his intai, but I remember him in Hatsu 2017. Didn't quite survive the meat grinder, but he did score a couple stellar wins.

Otsukaresamadeshita!

If that were the case his hair would be touching the ground.

Rikishi have haircuts way more often than regular people - but just a small bit off the end each time.

What about Aminishiki & Takarafuji?
