WAKATAKE 2,671 Posted September 1, 2020 (edited) Hello everyone! I am proud to announce that I am adding a 3rd game to the WAKATAKE lineup of sumo games, titled East vs West. The goal of East vs West is as follows: Pick which side (east or west) you think will win more bouts each day of the basho for all six divisions. The scoring is similar to how Turn the Tide works. You must have a clear majority in order to score a win (4 correct guesses or more). The player with the best record at the end of the basho will be declared the yusho winner! Rules 1. Pick the side of each division you think will win the most matches for the given day of the basho. Your two choices will be the east or west sides 2. If you picked the winning side, you will receive a correct guess for the division. You must have at least 4 correct guesses in order to score a win for the day (3-3 will result in a loss) a. Should the east and west of a division split the matches evenly, this will be counted as a correct guess 3. Kyujo matches are counted towards the total if they end up on the winning side 4. Players will submit their picks via the Survey Monkey link. In the case that Survey Monkey does not work, a template form will be posted in the game thread to use 5. Because this game involves all six divisions, the deadline for submitting your daily picks will be 8am JST (4pm PST/7pm EST) 6. The player with the best 15 day record will be declared the yusho winner 7. In the case of two or more players having the same score, we will go to a tiebreaker Bonus Game (Gino-Sho/Technique Prize, must have kachi-koshi) 1. The bonus game will be used as one of the factors for the tiebreaker 2. Players will pick how many matches they think the winning sides will have. This is regardless of which side wins, and also does not have any affect on the players' main game picks 3. You will pick from the following categories a. Makuuchi b. Juryo c. Makushita joi (last 5 matches of makushita) 4. The lowest margin of error will be used for the tiebreaker 5. At the end of the basho, the lowest margin of error winners for each category will be announced 6. The player with the lowest combined margin of error for all three categories will win the Gino-Sho 7. Margin of error is cumulative, so whether you are under or over the daily result, (-1 or +2) these will added as regular margin of error Tiebreaker 1. 5-0 guess for the Makushita joi from the bonus game 2. Most 6-0 guesses for the basho 3. Most 6-0 & 5-1 guesses for the basho 4. Lowest combined margin of error for the bonus game 5. Bullseye for the bonus game (no margin of error) in the following order a. Makuuchi b. Juryo c. Makushita 6. Most correct guesses per division in the following order a. Makuuchi b. Juryo c. Makushita d. Sandanme e. Jonidan f. Jonokuchi 7. Best combined correct guess record for Makuuchi, Juryo, Makushita 8. Best combined correct guess record for Sandanme, Jonidan, Jonokuchi 9. Earliest submissions Sansho (Special Prizes) Shukun-Sho: Most 6-0 daily guesses (must have kachi-koshi) Kanto-Sho: Most correct guesses for Makushita, Sandanme, Jonidan, Jonokuchi divisions (must have kachi-koshi) Gino-Sho: Lowest combined margin of error from the bonus game (must have kachi-koshi) Chanko-Sho: Lowest margin of error for Makuuchi in the bonus game (KK not required) Sukiyaki-Sho: Lowest margin of error for Juryo in the bonus game (KK not required) Gyudon-Sho: Lowest margin of error for Makushita in the bonus game (KK not required) Kinboshi (main game): Lone 6-0 daily guess Kinboshi (bonus game): Lone Bullseye in Makuuchi (no margin of error) Ginboshi (bonus game): Lone Bullseye in Juryo (no margin of error) Diamond Star: 5-0 guess for the Makushita Joi In case you are not able to make the daily submissions because of the deadline, please feel free to submit a default template using the link below so that you will not be MIA. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5S6STNB I will appreciate any feedback about what you see so far for the game, and I am really hoping that you will have a lot of fun trying out this game. WAKATAKE 2,671 Posted September 11, 2020 Tiebreakers have been rearranged, the number 1 criteria for the tiebreaker is going to be getting a perfect 5-0 guess for the makushita joi (last 5 matches). The likelihood that this happens is extremely rare, and should it actually happen, the players going to tiebreaker might not have been the ones to correctly guess it. WAKATAKE 2,671 Posted September 15, 2020 Changes to the tiebreakers have been made, removed having the most 4-2 guesses for the game because anybody can get to this. Also changed the order of the bonus games tiebreakers, the lowest combined margin error is the greater tiebreaker, followed by getting bullseyes in the bonus game. We have one 5-1 guess after day 2, which will place Shinobi Steve above Holleshoryu. This ranking will be adjusted after day 3 if necessary.
