Gurowake 4,053 Posted November 22, 2020 Every single one of the sanyaku was MK. All Ozeki will be kadoban, and the remaining sanyaku are all being pulled from the previous maegashira ranks. Sekiwake Frinkanohana was MK last basho and will not be up for promotion. Sekiwake Chishafuwaku has had just over 20 wins the last two basho, and will require only 10 wins for promotion next basho. 1
Gurowake 4,053 Posted November 22, 2020 (edited) Newcomers Pahomu and Balon should be ranked identically, having had the same score. Pahomu is ranked ahead because of whatever tiebreaker is used in the standings causes Pahomu to be listed first, even though the two show as being the same rank. Hopefully I will remember to treat them as though they are the same rank next basho. Edited November 22, 2020 by Gurowake
Gurowake 4,053 Posted November 22, 2020 Also, Kajiyanosho removed the long mark from the last vowel in their name, which caused me to not treat them as the same player at first since the autmation I rely on requires the strings match exactly when doing most of the work. I had to redo a little bit of Makushita after realizing that they were almost certainly the same person and the one without the long mark was not new. There also was a lot of new players, originally 13, but 12 after I discovered the above. Some of them are returnees who had fallen off from inactivity, while others are completely new. I suspect that perhaps some of them might be the same as some of the kosho players in Makushita, but I don't have an easy way of finding that out.

There were a lot of people that stayed put with KKs. Some of that was the sanyaku becoming smaller, so they're at least promotions in terms of SB points. I messed up when adding new players to the bottom and added Mmikasazuma (who was in Juryo) instead of you, so that player is on the banzuke twice. The bottom of the banzuke should look like: I'll transfer your banzuke position to Hakushin for the next banzuke.
Gurowake 4,053 Posted January 24, 2021 Results: The top score by Kobashi (1259) was better than 2nd place Ganzohnesushi by 87 points, meaning there are relatively few good scores and Ganzohnesushi's is the only other one good enough for 12 wins. Makuuchi Median = 1020 - Step Size = 31.8666... Juryo median = 980 - Step size = 37.2 Makushita median = 971 - Step size = 38.4
