EDIT: Aaaand I saw your PS after I'd posted. Oh well. It could be unrelated or just that he doesn't want to live under that uncertainty, but it's all guesswork. It could definetely be unrelated, he seems like quite a family man so, I can understand the "not wanting to live under uncertainty". He had no experience in the food business, about 3 years ago he did construction related work.
