Pulled calf, if Hochi is anything to go by.

Which could mean anything. With luck it might just be a minor strain and he's being cautious. He already has enough wins to keep his sekitori status.

Not a rikishi but Kise Oyakata has been kyujo since day 1 and is hospitalized. "Nothing serious, I was not feeling well. After a check up, it was found that my blood pressure was very high and I was hospitalized on March 11th," he said. He said he spoke to his deshi Ura who went kyujo today by phone to discuss this. "His knees are prone to injury so we have to be extra careful. When he exerts a lot of pressure, there's an inflammation. We will wait a day or two to see if he can re-enter the basho," he added.

Doesn't sound like a "pulled calf" to me.

Just saw that Endo is kyujo, could be the taped left calf.

Endo? Really?

Article doesn't specify the cause of the kyujo, but makes reference to the fact that his left calf had been taped.

Nikkan's article has been updated in the meantime (I guess) - Endo injured the left calf in training about a week before shonichi, spent the following days resting and went into the basho mostly unprepared, which explains why he looked so bad for the first few tournament days. After having gradually improved since then, the injured part took another hit in his Day 9 bout against Kotonowaka, and it got bad enough again that he was incapable of walking stairs at his stable last night. According to Oitekaze it's definitely not going to improve enough in the remaining days to permit re-participation, so that's it for Endo this basho.

I hope Endo is able to heal and come back strong in May. He had some good momentum behind him the last few days.

Onaruto was back on duty today, and he filled in for Kataonami shimpan for the last 3 bouts of the 2nd half makuuchi shift, after Kataonami felt ill. He was time keeping oyakata under the red tassel and before the Terunofuji-Myogiryu bout changed seat with Tanigawa, who sat under the white tassel, after the bout Onaruto came in.

Isegahama told that he was checked in the infirmary and is OK. http://www.nikkansports.com/battle/sumo/news/202103220000955.html

Not OK, Kataonami shimpan is kyujo as of day 10, Shiranui-oyakata replaced him today http://www.jiji.com/jc/article?k=2021032300988&g=spo

Three withdrawals and a late entry among the lower divisions, ahead of Day 11.

Withdrawing:

Ms7e Ryusei - seemed to hurt his left arm or shoulder back on Day 6, but also a heavy fall off the dohyo yesterday.

Ms52e Roman - was holding his right arm or wrist after a hard fall off the dohyo yesterday.

Jd88e Arikawa - I've heard he has a broken ankle, I guess it happened in asageiko as there was nothing obvious in his last bout.

Entering:

Jd17e Kinotsukasa

Kotoshoho is returning from kyujo on Day 12.

................If he's still got a bum something, fat lot of good this is going to do him.

11 losses from M11 is almost certainly demotion; 12 or 13 will almost certainly do it. Everyone around him has even or better results and there are multiple candidates in upper juryo banging on the gates, including most of the juryo yusho front runners.

If he pulls off a few wins, he will be in better position for a quick Maku return coming out of Natsu.

Plenty of movements ahead of the final round of lower division action - four withdrawals, three returnees and three late starters.

Withdrawing:

Jd31w Toshonishiki

Jd102w Takemaru

Jk2w Yutakanami

Jk7e Boshuyama (fusenpai Day 12)

Returning/Entering:

Ms7e Ryusei (withdrew on Day 11)

Sd19e Hagiwara (withdrew on Day 9)

Sd75e Kaonishiki (withdrew on Day 3 after a fusenpai - fights 0-6 Hokutoo on Day 13)

Jd75w Oisato (kyujo from the start - fights 0-6 Higonoryu on Day 13)

Jk6w Numano (kyujo from the start - fights 0-6 Shonanzakura on Day 13)

Jk18w Takano (kyujo from the start - fights 1-4 Sawaisamu on Day 13)

It's possible that Numano will get a second bout against Sawaisamu whose odd schedule leaves him with a bout to make up.

I hope Kaonishiki and Oisato aren't showing up to say goodbye - they are from the heya which will close after the basho, Azumazeki and Minezaki respectively.

Sorry, my dyslexia kicks in every time I try and read this sentence.  All I see is "he's got a fat bum, which is going to do him some good."  (Beingthrowntomatoesat...)

Kyodo reports that Chiyonokuni is kyujo from Day 13. Tsurugisho will be the grateful recipient of a fusensho, which clinches his kachi-koshi.

Who did he fracture the rib against?

Only said it happened during the basho. Seems he waited for the kachikoshi- no need to aggravate the injuries needlessly. i hope Ura goes that way tomorrow.

At some point a massive bandage appeared on his midsection, so you should be able to go back through the vids and determine when it appeared.

Hot tip, thanks. It seems to have been against Okinoumi on day 10: the bandage appeared on day 11 and I fancy Chiyonokuni brought a hand up tenderly to the bandaged area, but the video cut away from him before it was definite.
