Tochi's 34 and his chronic knee will never heal up. Personally, I'm sure he's just enjoying his time as a sekitori and will go intai when he drops to Makushita if not Juryo.

And that explains why unscrupulous people like Ishiura and Chiyoshoma made it a point to slap him around. It had to be known Akiseyama's jaw was iffy so they aimed at a weak point.

If it's a choice between losing and exploiting a weakness most would choose the latter. The glorious exception was Asagyokusei who obligingly spraddled to the clay after a couple of light shoves against the utterly discombobulated Shonannoumi in January.

Same in every competitive setting, I suppose. If you can gain an advantage, you do. I remember a soccer star who kept a lingering problem with his big toe secret for years, out of worry everybody would be stepping on it. And knowing Italian interior defenders (a.k.a. career criminals) he was probably right.

Oshoryu down from top Ms7 with cellulitis,

Anzai on a 10-bout (!) losing streak from Ms36 must have something wrong going on,

Ofukasawa at Ms33 injured and out.

Only Marusho 3-1 at Ms49 still hanging in there (oops, inx-jay!)

There was also Sakurai showing more early promise than Marusho, and I don't think he was ever the same after his 2019 injury.

Left shoulder glenoid labrum (ligament) injury, apparently something lingering from the Haru basho but made worse on Day 7. One week treatment required, so maybe he'll be back?

Bushi suffered a left knee injury in his bout against Yasunishi today. Although the gyoji initially awarded the win to Bushi, the shimpan held a mono-ii. After 2 minutes 20 seconds, they decided that the rikishi fell together and a torinaoshi would normally take place. However, this was the first example of the new rules that allow the shimpan to determine that a rikishi is unable to fight, brought in after the Shonannoumi incident in January - ironically, it was the same crew from that bout (minus a temporary substitute) that was involved in this one. 

I guess years ago this bout would have been an itamiwake, but that's gone the way of the dinosaur so Yasunishi won by fusensho. Really unlucky for Bushi, both for the injury and the loss.
