Yes, I agree.  Having got this far - his best unbeaten run in a tournament to date - it would be a shame if Terunofuji took his foot off the throttle.  Granted his final two bouts are the trickiest. Here's hoping all goes well for him.

Well, that may depend on how many open slots there may be.  There may be just one and Mitoryu may have to wait.  Despite the record, it does not look good for Mitoryu.  He'd better win the final day match and hope for getting help from others.

Of course, whether someone actually gets one is always down to banzuke luck, but just on numbers alone 11 wins from J6 has got a rikishi into Makuuchi 18 times since 1958, including as recently as January this year.

It is very possible that there would be only one demotion from Makuuchi in this basho.  In that case, Yutakayama will get the promotion leaving Mitoryu lamenting about his banzuke luck.

Just wondering, Juryo edition part 1.  Bushozan waddled in and mounted the dohyo to accept his freebie win against kyujo Kyokutaisei.  Then he stayed to give Akua the power water.  The previous guy on that side, Takakento, had lost.  So the pecking order is 1) winner of last match on that side, 2) guy who accepted kyujo win from that side, 3) wrestler awaiting a future bout on that side, 4) someone who won a while back who has to stay in case nobody else suitable does?

Just wondering, Juryo edition part 2.  Several Juryo gyoji are swallowing their 'te wo tsuite' announcements so much I hope there is not a monitor in the gyoji room or we may see Konosuke in an unexpected rage-filled appearance.  Some pre-tachiai yells sound more like an apologetic 'eh wo tsup.'  I won't even mention how 'nokotta nokotta' seems to have morphed into 'tanagoot tanagoot tanagoot tahhh, tanagoot tanagoot tanagoot tanagoot tahhh, ...'

He said some really bad stuff about people who upload or stream sumo, it came across really condescending and spiteful. I interpreted it as putting down the contribution of those people, but I can't remember word for word what he said. Others on the forum probably do. 

I heavily disagree with the sentiment, and I found his way of phrasing it prickish, is what I'm trying to say. Yet I still love a lot of his researched and historical videos.

Oh, okay. That’s what I thought you meant but I thought that couldn’t possibly be right. What reason could he have for opposing that? It’s not his copyright to protect and it’s the only way for most of us to watch it.

It's not fully black, and has his name embroidered across the front also in black. I believe there's a pic of it in the keshomawashi thread in the other sub forum.

I, for one, was not surprised by Aoiyama's behavior. He  never shows any kind of respect/concern for the defeated opponent. Every time he pushes someone out and they take a painful/dangerous fall, Aoiyama always instantly wheels away. With other rikishi, you will usually see a helping hand, a hand gesture or simply a few second wait to see that the defeated opponent is OK and is getting up on their own.
