Were you already aware that he had cauliflower ears/earlobes and that's how you knew it was him? Or did you recognize his face in Carmen's photo? I am very curious since he was a low-ranked rikishi. I went through the the 2015 photo banzuke you posted and looked at everyone from Ms-Sd who I didn't recognize by name

One of them was Carmen's rikishi Hokutohana, but since there was just a side view, I couldn't tell it was him. I'm glad you came along & solved it.
Carmen 1 Posted June 9, 2021 Katooshu, Many thanks. I'd given up. It was so much fun to see the other pictures.
Kaminariyuki 498 Posted June 9, 2021 OK, I'm only posting a second one because I know Joann loves these. Last one for the moment. I met this fellow outside a 7-Eleven at the Kyushu basho in 2017. He was a very pleasant fellow but with the road noise I could not understand what he said his name is. Somehow, I'm guessing Joann will get to the bottom of it.. . I couldn't find him on the A-Z (Active) Rikishi list so he's probably retired. And I didn't see a photo of him on the 2017 Kyushu basho banzuke on the DB. If anyone recognizes him, please post. Sorry to disappoint you, Kaminariyuki!

Sorry to disappoint you, Kaminariyuki! No worries. He seemed a bit older than the average rikishi, so he could easily be retired. LOL, or possibly he was just a pleasant fellow who walked down to the 7-Eleven wearing his yukata and has nothing to do with sumo whatsoever!
rokudenashi 298 Posted June 24, 2021 (edited) I believe this is Arikawa of Nishonoseki-beya. If it is him, he put up a 5-2 record at that basho from Jonidan 82 West From the heya website, bottom of the page Edited June 24, 2021 by rokudenashi

(He had turned 29 just before the 2017 Kyushu basho). Here he is on the A-Z (Active) Rikishi database -- Click on the 2017 picture 3 times to enlarge it. Naganoyama 5,881 Posted June 25, 2021 You can also access data for retired rikishi back to the year 2000. Intai rikishi are divided into the year and basho they retired. Click on Summary at the top right. Then click on Intai for your selected year in the left section.
