Yup, I guessed better when I had less information.

I'm in awe how Sakura is just on another level at this game.  I'm not entirely sure why it didn't happen like I and the other non-Sakura Yokozuna thought it would, and it did happen like Sakura thought it would.  I have a theory, and it's going to have to take some research to see if it's right.  If it is, then Sakura has managed to see patterns that none of the Yokozuna have seen, and probably wouldn't have seen until someone else picked them up first.  I'm highly skeptical it was just a lucky guess.  If it was anyone else, then maybe, but not with Sakura.

I thought they'd go with Shodai-Ichinojo for the lone san'yaku bout, not Takakeisho-Meisei, and that freed up Ichinojo to get the opponent I had slated to fight Kiribayama.

Well, I got the Sanyaku right, but that didn't help with Kiribayama. B-)

Yeah, after doing some more research, it's something we talked about before that still boggles my mind that such is thing is relevant in some places and not others.  It also is a bit more complicated (apparently) than I originally imagined, as there are clear counterexamples in theory, but I found compelling reasons to explain those, and those compelling reasons are basically the "secret sauce".  Sorta as I said above, I think for a lot of the time in the past we were just mystified as to their reasoning, whereas it seems to just have deeper layers that Sakura figured out first.

I can see Kiribayama being used to test players further down the banzuke. That would be a fairly sensible thing to do.

Okay I think I have a guess at what these cryptic comments are getting at...
