Yeah, 3-4 in the next basho seems to be the median result for yusho winners from the lower half.

...And the top of your list is dominated by sekitori rikishi coming back after injury or disqualification. Even future success stories like Kinbozan, Tamawashi, Shodai, Nishikigi, Kiribayama, and Aoiyama did not follow their lower-Ms yusho with another dominant performance.

This means there is no need to worry about Satorufuji's potential, he should be fine.

Haru 2024, Senshuraku (Final)

Better late than never for this post.  Will Takerufuji have to face a full joi schedule in his quest for double digits on the Wall?  Speaking of double digits, dai-Wallee Shirokuma (the new shikona just isn't catching on with me for some reason) fell just short due to injury, of which I lack any specifics if anyone would like to chime in on that.  Sorry to report that Aonishiki blemished his record with his first loss after three basho:-P  Will he make a Takerufuji-esque sprint through the ranks?  He's off to an identical start, so stay tuned!

M5w Onosato: 11-4, 6 KK, 56-18

M17e Takerufuji: 13-2 Y!!!, 9 KK, 69-10, M, J, Jd, Jk yusho

J5w Shirokuma Takahashi: 7-6-2, 10 KK, 72-35-2, Jk, Jd yusho

Ms2w Onokatsu: 5-2, 3 KK, 16-5

Ms10e Wakaikari: 4-3, 7 KK, 37-12, Sd yusho

Ms17w Haruyama 5-2, 6 KK, 35-7, Jk yusho

Ms41e Shiroma: 4-3, 4 KK, 24-4-7* Jk yusho

Ms48e Anosho 5-2, 5 KK, 28-7 Jk, Jd yusho

Sd18e Aonishiki: 6-1, 3 KK, 20-1 Jd, Jk yusho

Jd5w Yamada: 3-4, 2 KK, 13-8

Honorable wallees Oshoumi and Daiseizan, who had never MKed outside of kyujo, had different fortunes. Oshoumi hit the alternative wall at J11, but Daiseizan scored a 6-1 that'll put him near the top of makushita.

He does, thanks for catching that!  I try to catch the Ms tsukedashi entrants, but am not always successful.

Could we have a separate thread where people can discuss their ability to jinx fighters using their extraordinary powers?:-)
