How can anyone get mad about font day? Enjoy those grapes and thank you all the effort over many years. My fandom was shaped by your videos since around 2014.

You're my choice for videos.  I can't believe how fast you can come up with quality edited videos in such a short time, and on a shoestring.  Also, Font Day ends over my dead body.

Font day is best day. I watch your videos only, if you post late I wait until it arrives on YouTube. Other channels may have slicker production, but I don’t care. They do not have your dry wit and humour. And I love that you have invented new words like slippiotoshi and oshiwashi. Never change!

First of all, huge kudos for what you do, sir. I really appreciate Natto enabling me to watch Juryo and Makushita, but you are my go-to for Makuuchi. Second, I found the "extra" vowels mildly annoying until I understood why they were there, and now they provide an extra level of insight. Third, anyone complaining about font day needs to get a life.

Rant, explanations, anger-managemet..

I can’t fathom the mindset of someone who gets upset about those things. All I’m here for is the bout footage. I don’t need all the extra detail that Natto has (not that I’m objecting to it). I appreciate the simplicity of your presentation style. I’m an avid enough fan that I don’t even need the rikishi names at all and if I want more info like recent rankings or form tables, I have the internet to check the DB. But okay, that’s me. I’m sure that stuff is useful for other people. But seriously, how hard it is just to ignore? It’s up for a few seconds at a time between fights. Hardly intrusive.

Font day should be every day.

Or every day should be font day.

One of those.

I disagree.  It's like Mother's Day – if it were every day, even the most devoted child would start to resent the old bag.

I like Font Day the way it is: six days a year in the middle of odd-numbered months.  And, I don't want to know which day, just like I don't want to know what's in the wrapped presents.

What manner of irksome oik complains about Font Day?

Never read the reviews, darling!

I like the font days that start out with fonts that are close to the typical. Then you think, are my eyes deceiving me? Or is it font day today?

For next Font Day, only use Wingdings 1, Wingdings 2 and Wingdings 3 to troll your detractors, @Kintamayama.

That much I do not recommend.  They should always be readable and informative.

In the end, i really think the fonts I do use are all quite readable.

I contemplated suggesting Dingbats. Unfortunately, there's no YT filter to ensure only those who've posted negative comments see gobbledigook subtitles, but it would indeed be a mega-troll if it were possible.

Mr. Kintamayama,

I totally get your rant. I see where you are coming from.  I wanted to give you my biggest and warmest thanks for all that you do. I frequent your grocery store daily during hon-basho. Why?

* You put some English commentary at the bottom of the screen.  At least the bout participants, and sometimes some excellent personal commentary (which often mirrors my thoughts almost word-for-word).  I watch it on mute (typically last thing I do at night and my wife is sleeping).  Hence, the "closed captioning" is extraordinarily useful.  I know who is fighting and I get updates on key sumo news.

* Your format is excellent and has improved over the years.  Even though there are other channels (and I use Natto for Makushita and Juryo), I still choose to shop at the mom-n-pop grocery of Kintamayama.  I like your product selection and price!

* I know you said you would quit, a prospect which scares me, but you did not.  You clearly have a passion for sumo and making these videos and it shows in the product.  Yes - its a 15 minute clip of sumo bouts - but in this clip I can sense your passion! I do not know how you do that, but know that it is there.

* I do not care how you spell things or what fonts you use.  Sumo is, by its very nature, something Japanese.  To bring it to a foreign language loses something - no matter how you do it.  You can write the shikona in English with long vowels, accents, or nothing at all.  It still does not covey the meaning of the shikona or its significance to the wrestler, to the stable, his family/hometown, etc. Heck, even my personal shikona has a double entendre.  I use something sounding more "martial", but there is another way of looking at it (see them both below). Such nuances would be missed no matter how you "anglicize" it.   Anyone who rants about that stuff clearly has other comprehension issues.  Plus, its your grocery store - operate it how you like.  Even if I choose to run my shop differently, I am not going to come into your home to criticize you.  If you choose to spice up my shopping experience with fonts or pasta eatings, great!  Thanks for the variety!

* I have enjoyed all your work and passion for at least a decade.  I hope you never lose this passion.  I would understand if you did - but personally am very appreciative of how it is reflected.

Keep up the excellent work.  Know that for any nihilistic, amateur Youtube critic out there that you have many dedicated followers - even if they only lurk in the shadows of the grocery.

Moti, I will watch yours a lot more than if I were to watch Natto, and no disrespect to him either. My dad will prefer to watch Natto because of all the details that they give, but your "quickies" are very helpful to me when I'm needing to get my fix of sumo and only so much time for lunch break at work. And I also enjoy the humor that you bring to the videos, and there is no replacing that.

Sorry that you have to go through the nitpickers, but if you will continue to upload in the way that is best for you, I certainly will continue watching!

Late to the party, but I want to chip in with everyone who immensely enjoys your videos. Nowadays they're also the first choice for me, and you are absolutely correct that the English broadcast has made me know all the commentators. I especially enjoy Murray Johnson so every day he's on lit like a small celebration for me. Another thing I really enjoy are your occasional comments in the subtitles -- they're always more than welcome!

Finally, I don't really care about the spelling and am amazed that people complain about it. As long as as I can understand who's wrestling any thing's fine for me.

I've been watching your videos since 2013 and like them exactly the way they are, they're a big part why I always look forward to the next basho. I love font day, your jokes and wordplay and of course all the info you give to us. When I started watching on a whim back then, I knew next to nothing about sumo and boy, has that changed (I still have A LOT to learn compared to many other people here, of course).
If I can, I catch at least part of a livestream in the morning, but I always watch your video later in the day. Tried Natto's channel, wasn't for me.
So, yes, please don't change a thing and just ignore the trolls :)

Kintamayama Thank you for posting your videos,  my wife and I love Font day, the people that give you hate aren't really Sumo fans(imo), please continue,  the sumo world would be an empty place without your contributions. When we show people sumo, your our go to YouTube channel, Hakkeyoi

I loved it when Murray called slippiotoshi and giving you a name drop, priceless.
