In Nov/Dec 2014, two-thirds of the people doing this poll thought that Ichinojo would be an Ozeki by January 2016....

In July 2022, he won his first ever yusho.

But stories have emerged about him at the end of 2022, which do not bode well for him.

Please include your predictions in the comments below, and state what you think the actual rank of Ichinojo will be on the January 2024 banzuke (important for tie-breakers).

The media circus around this will affect his concentration, he'll fall to the second division and may stay there. J6

He'll keep doing exactly what he's been doing for the past five or so years (but without winning another yusho)

Okay, so he'll drop to Juryo for March, but will make his way back up the banzuke, nothing spectacular, but 5 KKs in-a-row, with the best being a one-off 10-5. He'll get to M7E for Jan 2024.

Well, we all know that Ichinojo is having a break in January, and will take a tumble down the ranks. But that might help him (with easier opponents?) to go back up the banzuke?

Over half of us predict that he will be in the joi-jin or sanyaku next January.

Over half of us think that he will end up with 3 KKs.

The 'best record' is predicted to be either 10 or 11 wins, it would seem.

Well, only Tsubame correctly predicted that Ichinojo would be off the banzuke before next January.

Nobody predicted that Ichinojo would have just one KK basho - but Tsubame was one of the five closest, with his guess of zero.

Nobody predicted that he had a 14-1 basho (Juryo yusho!) left in him, with I am the Yokozuna being closest with 13. Tsubame was way off on this prediction....

But as @Tsubame was the only player that got any of the questions correct - and was the joint closest for a second, he can have a 'weak yusho' (think 11-4) (Yushowinner...)

@I am the Yokozuna can claim the jun-yusho for almost getting the second question correct. (Secondprize...)
