Don't know if it helps or not, but I put 'Kintamayama' as referrer on the sign up page.

OK, so it looks like we're good to go, except for France, but I'm sure the issues they have will be fixed soon. Anyhow, Keep it as low key as we can, it should remain low-key, although I fear the enemy lurks everywhere..

I see this thread started five months ago, but no matter what is currently transpiring (and I will hop to the end to see the current status), I thank you profusely for these videos. When we became accidental sumo fans on our first trip to Japan, your channel was the only place I could find daily coverage. And my friends and I watch your channel still regularly. In the US, we can only get NHK on the east and west coasts. Sadly, we don't get it where I live currently, in the "fly over" zone. Maybe someday...

As I said regarding France, using a VPN solves the issue. No problem.

Why don't you really obscure it by using an obscure name for the channel.  Maybe something like Homologous Manifolds in Non-Integer Spaces.  Not only would it not be something (most) people were looking for, but it would actively repel those people looking around for random channels.

[NOTE: The first poster that says "that was my MS thesis" is going to be dining on a fresh can of whup-ass!]

Why not just translate the name to the literal translation, which is Golden Balls Mountain?

Great idea.  Can't get much more obscure than that.  Certainly wouldn't attract any (unwanted) attention!

I just got two copyright strikes of the "soft" kind from the Kyokai on my usual channel, which just means they know I dont own the rights, but I can carry on as usual, like I've had a few times before. The thing is, my channel is offline, I mean private, which I guess means that this doesn't ensure that they won't take me down, even if it's marked private and nobody can access it but me (and them, I guess..).. Looking closely now at the second strike notice that caused this panic in the first place, I see it was issued by the Kyokai (not NHK) for using their channel to translate, from quite a while ago. I am baffled,. So maybe NHK were OK after all?

Silly, we want to make random viewers avoid the site; that would make the site go viral.

This is probably not feasible, but I wonder what it would cost to get the rights to show digests of bouts. I know one of my favorite cycling channels, Lantern Rouge, recently got rights to show footage from major races like the Tour de France. If it wasn't completely exorbitant, we could potentially crowdsource it.
