1st Hakuho Dreamgirls cup 2024

I guess Hakuho will take care that this gets much media attention, so I put it in a separate thread

If you hear dream in connection with sumo, you know that Miyagino is involved. The 1st Dreamgirls cup is one day before the Hakuho cup - with not just Hakuho as supporter, the event has the same promoter as the Hakuho cup.

Sumo experience is not required - same as at the Wakanosato cup: there already is one celebrity participant

this experience apparently inspired her to take part - and go for the yusho. Hakuho had encouraged her to enter, the day after the tournament was announced she started to train with her brothers, who take part in the Hakuho cup - Miroku Sutou (12, 150cm, 50kg) has karate and wrestling experience.

Miroku Sutou now trains with Hakuho for the cup - not at the heya but at the Heiwa no Mori park sumo dojo in Ota ward

World championships heavy middle weight bronze medallist Rio Hasegawa (Keio university sumo club, 2nd year) takes part as coach. She instructed the daughters of Hakuho and others who take part without sumo experience.

In the end butsukari-geiko with jd Onokura

Hasegawa took part in the Hakuho cup in 2013 as 3rd year, among the boys - then not at the kokugikan of course: she finished 3rd. The next year the cup was at the kokugikan and girls could no longer take part.

It was a fun event. Female sumo rarely disappoints, unless perhaps you are a hardcore pusher/thrust fan, as it is mostly grappling.

The technique is pretty good even at younger ages and their sportsmanship is impeccable.

Uncanny resemblance, innit. No doubts on the biological father's identity whatsoever!
