Gurowake 4,031 Posted November 5, 2024 Takayasu and Kotozakura are tied for the lead after the honwari matches. They start the kettei-sen for the Yusho and are both knocked out cold by the tachiai. There was no clear winner of the bout and neither can continue, so no one wins the Yusho. The NSK deliberates and gives them each half the prize and hoshokin points for the Yusho, and leaves it to others to decide how they want to record things for history. Takayasu retires, and the question will always remain if he really won a yusho.
just_some_guy 265 Posted November 5, 2024 Terunofuji competes the entire 15 days of the basho. now for a less ridiculous prediction... Chiyoshoma goes 14-1, winning every match with a henka except for one where his opponent henkas in the same direction and accidentally bumps him out of the ring. 1
Yamanashi 3,793 Posted November 6, 2024 Thanks for "throwing out the first pitch" for Ridiculous Predictions this basho. 10 hours ago, Gurowake said: There was no clear winner of the bout and neither can continue, so no one wins the Yusho. In a move that creates much controversy, including twelve intai in protest, fist fights in the Diet, and a temporary ceasefire in the Ukraine-Russia war, the official scorer declares the bout a yasumi. yohcun 401 Posted November 6, 2024 Oho goes 15-0, each time spouting his new catch phrase "Oh-HOH!?" to turn the tables mid-bout. 1

Barutokai 64 Posted November 9, 2024 Takayasu's old childhood rival, 'Gary', shows up each day with signs like: "You will never yusho!" Takayasu is enraged and wins 15-0. Later Gary writes a book how he helped Takayasu yusho, will become a media celeb and appears on every food related show in Japanese television.

J13W Kotoeiho tries the same thing ("EI-ho, EI-ho") , but the foreign fans boo him.

Yamanashi 3,793 Posted November 11, 2024 Shodai gets a lot of advice from people. Recently someone told him "you should emulate successful rikishi". He notices that Ichiyamamoto and Abi have been doing fairly well, so he decides to use their blazing tsuppari attack; however, he doesn't practice the technique beforehand -- "I'm a Nodai graduate, so I'm smart enough to figure it out." This doesn't go well against Onosato. While Onosato is surprised, he has little trouble handling the clumsy thrusts. Undaunted, Shodai later asks his stablemates if they can teach him how to apply an okuridashi at the tachiai.
bettega 431 Posted November 11, 2024 (edited) Kaisei comes out of nowhere and starts to use a new kimarite called "Brazilian Cool". However, he doesn't win the yusho. Edited November 11, 2024 by bettega

I'd like to point out that at least part of this came to pass - Kotozakura was in a match on the last day where the winner would take the yusho. Too bad more of the prediction didn't hold once that was confirmed.
