Update....

I am going to start the draw now - before Christmas and New Year stuff get in the way. As usual late entries will be allowed right up until the last minute. That also includes new players to join Mae-zumo. The goal for 2025 is to completely fill our Makunouchi and Juryo Divisions (and open up Makushita!) - so please sign up. (Noddingyes...)

First up....  Let's randomise the Mae-zumo entrants.....

There were 2 items in your list. Here they are in random order:

  1. Kale (mz)
  2. Daiouika (mz)

Then we need to find some Jonokuchi players to represent them....

Kale (mz) receives jk13E Amanofuji.

Amanofuji did not turn up to fight last basho - let's hope he's okay, or else Kale might get a different rikishi to represent him.

J3W Joputosu starts off the Sekitori draw proper (i.e. for sekitori rikishi) with M11W Takerufuji.

I would suggest that that is a very decent pick for Joputosu. Apart from two bashos when he was injured, Takerufuji has never had an MK - and he has always won 66%+ of his bouts!

J1W Gaijingai receives J3E Ryuden.

The last time Ryuden was ranked in Juryo (for three consecutive bashos), he picked up two yushos. Another good pick?

J10E Tibozuka has been granted J5W Aonishiki.

The Ukrainian Aonishiki is storming up the banzuke - so maybe another decent draw?

J8W Marakizumi takes M2E Tobizaru.

Tobizaru has been a joi-jin regular for over a couple of years, but has only once visited the sanyaku.

J2W Meletyoshi will rely on J14W Daishoho.

Daishoho only managed 4 wins last basho - surely he'll do better this time around?

J1E Oshirokita has been granted M17E Nishikifuji.

Nishikifuji has had three double digit records in his past three January bashos (two KKs and an MK).

J7E Kachikoshi will trust in M16W Kagayaki.

Kagayaki is once again repromoted to Makunouchi - he's become a bit of an elevator rikishi.

J2E Ack! takes J2E Shiden.

Shiden is at a career high - is he ready to make the next step up into Makunouchi? (Just noticed, Ack! has the same rank as Shiden - I don't think that happens very often.)

J4E Taikoubana might get some joy from M15E Hakuoho.

Hakuoho is NOT making his Makunouchi debut.
