Mitakeumi, the Christmas present! (Birthday on 25th December)

Between 2017 and 2022, Mitakeumi was basically a sanyaku rikishi, rising as far as Ozeki. But, in 2023 and 2024, he spent the entire time outside of the sanyaku. Is he now confined to Mid-Makunouchi mediocrity - or does he still have some mojo in the tank for 2025?

Mitakeumi keeps being a "yo-yo" going up and down in Maegashira from one basho to the other. 3 KK and 3 MK in 2025.

He'll hang around in the lower part of the Makunouchi division for the whole this year, losing once against a Juryo visitor.

All of us think that his lowest rank for the coming year will be lower than his Jan 2024 rank of M7 - with the majority of the votes spread around M13.

The general opinion is that the lowest ranked rikishi that he will lose to will be at the lower end of Makunouchi - but there are a decent amount of picks for Juryo ranks. 

Two players think that he will not rise higher than his current rank of M7 in the next six bashos. None of us see him getting back to sanyaku any time soon.
