YouTube asks you to verify your account by phone in order to use custom thumbnails, if you don't like the three they suggest to you.. It won't let me verify my account via phone number, I guess because I am a hardened criminal out to get them. Or something. I was lucky these last days and months and could find one out of the three they proposed that was not a spoiler. My luck runneth out. Sorry. Hopefully tomorrow is a new day. Sorry again. YouTube tries to pick closeups of faces for the thumbnails, and I guess invariably winning poses is more or less where direct shots of faces are in sumo coverage. As a workaround, if you make a short part at the start of the video in a way that features a face, there should be a high chance it gets chosen as a potential thumbnail. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
