Kintamayama 45,305 Posted December 24, 2004 (edited) Asashouryu has yet to do any real keiko. His finger pain is still there. He can only do butsugari-geiko. He is training with his tsukebito and checking to see if he can grab a mawashi, but it is still painful. "I still feel some pain. No use rushing things unnecessarily. I don't want to aggravate the injury. If possible, I'd like to do some real keiko before the year is out. But I'm not impatient," he said, smiling. Still, lack of keiko has seen him gain 4.5 kilos and he is now 144 kilos. "Hmm.. Seems I put on some weight, huh", he mused at the weigh -in today. He is going for that calendar year 6 yusho record, but will be meeting some formidable foes in people like Hakuhou and Kotooushuu. "Sumo is getting interesting. I'm really looking forward to meeting Osh on the dohyo. I like beating 'big' rikishi. I'll be using all kinds of techniques to win!", he added. The possibilities are varied- with such a "leggy" opponent, he can use any leg- grasping technique like Ashitori, Komatasukui or Sotokomata. Osh will be the tallest rikishi he has ever faced. The tallest he has face to date was the 1.98 meter Takanonami. Osh has a 20 centimeter height advantage. Musashimaru was the heaviest Asa has faced-there was a 93 kilogram difference betwen them when they faced each other. Asa may be lacking in his preparations, but he is as brash as ever. AsatoTenho (edited..) sharing a joke: Asa at keiko, but is this from today?? I guess so.. Edited December 28, 2004 by Kintamayama
Ryukaze 0 Posted December 25, 2004 lol I don't think Kotooshu has much of a chance at this particular point in juncture of beating "Asa" not strong enough, and perhaps most importantly not mean enough, (man it would be great to see him get "tsuir-otoshi'd" lol)
