I chosed Buyuzan. He's really a new version of Wakanoyama : both are heavy, with very low center of gravity, they ever dash at their opponents, a bit like bulls ! I love that !

Unfortunately, they couldn't fight against eachother because they both come from the Musashigawa-stable !

Hokutoriki could've been another choice. He's got everything to become a successful rikishi in Sanyaku : a good weight, quickness, intelligence, fighting spirit, confidence ... The revealation of 2002 !  (Laughing...)

For me, it's Shimotori cause I like his yotsu-zumo. He's powerful but he lacks of aggressiviness. He's sometimes too passive.

No. They can't fight each other because they are the HAIRIEST Sumotori.Together with Musa, they form the "Hairy Coalition of Musashigawa".

I voted Hokutoriki without really knowing why. (Blush...)

He appeals to me somehow. Let's see if I can elaborate on this later when I hopefully in time start to learn what the (Going nuts...) happens on the dohyo. The athletic side of sumo is still a full mystery to me.

I voted H'riki too, for two reasons: he has such a poker-face, but is not a bland-looking not-noticable grub like Shimotori (ie, I can recognise him on sight, while I still occasionaly mix Shimotori and Hamanishiki up).

Aaaaand, he looks like moto-Kotozakura, current Sadogatake-oyakata. I bet that's why Kotoseiya likes him, too.

Well, perhaps unconsciously. It certainly doesn't hurt. (Laughing...)

I have now Hokutoriki's mini-nobori standing on my computer. What's that?, asks everyone coming to the room.

Well, notice I did not propose Gojoro in the list, because it's in fact a come-back in Makuuchi to him.

But I would certainly have chosen him ... He's got a lot of possibilities ... with his impressive size and particularly thanks to his long arms too !

In fact, Gojoro should be coached better than he is actually. Gojoro should fight exactly like Takanonami does and he could make the same great career Nami did.

Gojoro has to use his natural advantages each time he can make it and he has to attempt the over-arm grip, typical of Takanonami's style, each time it's possible !

For me as Kotonowaka-Fan it's clearly Shimotori.

Sometimes he reminds me to Kotonowaka with his passive style and his slowness.

And as Tony said, he lacks sometimes of aggressiviness.

But that's exactly why I like him and why I really don't like Rikishi that are over-aggressive (like asashoryu  (Devilish thought) )

If he was more fast, he wouldn't lose " easy " bouts ( for him ). Shimotori is very talented, his performance in september doesn't reflect his worth.

What a pity!

That's strange, nobody chose Ushiomaru yet... Isn't he a new Azumazeki star? ;)

There can be only one Buyuzan. He looks like a small fat dog, trying to upend the larger dogs. I like the hair, as well. He has attitude and does his best every fight. I have two favourites right now, Toki and Buyuzan. Two wrestlers that are a little bit different than the rest!  :-Q
