karlsmom 0 Posted February 4, 2005 sorry about this late introduction, but i too only noticed this part of the forum quite recently only despite being able to follow (and joining in) the exchanges during the basho. i used to stay in manila, philippines where i could watch current bashos daily during its 2-week run, but am now in canada and i don't know for sure yet where i can catch these bouts. so am truly dependent on this website for now for the streams and what i can pick up from dohyo.com. i have been a sumo fan for the longest time, though i do not profess to know a lot, i just love watching it for how marvelously short the bout is, and how fast these "supermen" are. i am shamelessly an asashoryu fan, but i have come to admire tochiazuma for his heart, and hakuho for his dohyo "smarts" despite his age. I also admire the smaller guys like ama and kaiho for their grit despite their small size. but then for an avid fan, which rikishi is not to like as they all have something admirable about them, somehow. thank you for indulging me with some of my past questions and more queries to come. :-D

If you are in either Toronto/Vancouver and the surroundings, you can get TV Japan from either Rogers or Shaw, cheaper than what you can get on Dish. Perhaps other cities may have it but it's best to check with your local cable provider as I know Bell Expressvu, the satellite does not.
