since the forum was changed a while back I cannot post pictures that total above 500k.

This counts all pics so posting a new one means removing previous posted pics first. Generally only 2 can fit within the 500k limit.

However, from this week- NO pics will appear when an attempt is made at attaching.

Got some pics to post so anything you can advise here most welcome. Cheers (In a state of confusion...)

I guess the other picture is a bit larger than 250 kB and so won't fit. How about:

a) resizing pictures so they are smaller and so more can fit in the 500 kB limit

b) puting them on some free hosting service which allows hot-linking to forums and e-bay (maybe one of these)

c) putting them on your webspace and linking to that?

thank you for this :-D and perhaps the solution will be to link to my own site from now. Hoped to post in SF but with a 500k (global / total under my shikona) limit it doesn't look like it will be possible or will be too much trouble anyway. (Punk rocker...)

I did test it by uploading a pic I took back at the Hatsu Basho HERE without resizing or editing it so I know it's huge (Blinking...) Now the question is how do I take it off from the site and how do they know what I upload the next is also from me.

Oh...the reason I put up this one is if you think I caught just the right moment for his tsukebito to spit :-O

Hello everybody,

I tried to upload some images today on the Sumo Art topic, and wasn't allowed to at all - for images less than 500 kB. With the basic uploader I was told 'Uploading is not allowed', when I tried to use the advanced uploader I got 'You have exceeded your allotted disk space for attachments', and when I tried to use the insert image icon, I got 'You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community'. I had to delete the insertion in order to post.

I've been uploading images until now, no problem. I had to downsize one image to less than 500 kB, that's all. Is the limit 500kB all-told, or for each separate post? I've read the posts above, but I don't understand everything.

Any help and/or explanation would be greatly appreciated.

You should use some photo dump service (I use https://dumpyourphoto.com/ , but there are probably more convenient ones). Then post the image link that gets provided after the upload.

Note that for the service I mentioned, you don't need to sign up. You can sign up, if you want to manage your uploads later.

I'm had no error messages on uploading an image, but none of them have appeared. :(

I still can't upload anything from my computer, but images will copy-and-paste directly from websites. Right click on the image, click on 'copy image', and paste right into the post.

The initial posts in this topic were, in fact, dealing with an avatar. The forum will not accept an upload for an avatar if it contains more than 500K bits. That may be your problem. Try shrinking or cropping your pic. Edited October 5, 2015 by Asojima

Even with a 19k jpg, nothing appears.
