Itachiyama 119 Posted March 23, 2005 (edited) Well, I know most don't take care about the Gyoji and Yobidashi. But maybe someone has noticed what happend on day 10 or can do some investigations in this. Kimura Masano, the "STRANGE ONE" (Neener, neener...) had the fourth and third last bout of Juryo on day 10. The second last bout was lead by Kimura Shozaburo, the one one rank above Masano. But for the last match, Shozaburo left the dohyo and Masanao entered for him. You know Gyoji have always two bouts a day except the Tate-Kimura and the first one of Makuuchi when there is an even number. You can check Masanao leading 3 bouts, not in a row as described: http://www.banzuke.com/~juryoika/200503/ Today, although the NSK-Homepage lined up Shozaburo still, he was missing. It's obvious that he couldn't lead his second bout due to some disease on day 10, but I'm really curious what exactly forced him to surrender. But we know, to lead a Sumo match, you have to be in good conditions. The fear of sashi-chigae is omnipresent. By the way, the Gyoji (Kimura Koichi) who was hit yeasterday (day 10) by Tamanoshima is kyujo from today on. If I remember correctly it's the same one who was hit by Akinoshima some years ago very hard and slung into the Tamari-seki where he hit the peak of an umbrella and went kyujo for quite a time. In all there are 3 Gyoji from Juryo and Makuuchi kyujo now! Kimura Tamajiro, the one who could be the brother of Kimura Waichiro (same snivelling voice and appearance) is kyujo from day 1.
