Right now i'm a big fan of Hakuho and Asa ofcourse. Welcome, Bataa. I'm also a big fan of the Mongolian rikishi. I've followed sumo for decades and I feel they are the best thing to happen to sumo in a long time. They bring a fresh new approach, a variety of innovative waza, and, most important of all (at least to me) the living proof that one doesn't have to be a physical aberration to succeed in sumo. aderechelsea 124 Posted May 12, 2005 Welcome !!! You Mongolians are getting more and more in the forum ... nice to hear you are a distant relative of Kyokushuzan, one of the rikishi i like for his many "tricks". Give us a few "inside" stories on him . And if you can do the same for anyone of the other two lower division Mongolians i like, it would be great (Daiyuchi,Hoshihikari). Jejima 1,363 Posted May 12, 2005 Welcome! I (like many) also admire the Mongolian rikishi. I'm hoping to visit Mongolia in the next couple of years (I'm from the UK, but I live in Hong Kong). When is the national tournaments held in Mongolia? I would like to watch this for certain.
ilovesumo 12 Posted May 13, 2005 (edited) Hello. :-) I am a big fan of Kyokushuzan, I like Hakuho and many many other Rikishi. You are a distant relative of Kyokushuzan? Wow...but I once heard that there were just a few different "clans" in Mongolia, so many people must be relatives. :-) You say you followed Kyokushuzan's carreer since he entered M., so tell us please- how old are you? (You didn't add such information(s) at your profile until now). What do you study there? (there are some other university students here-like me ;-) ) You know much about the Mongolian Rikishi, so I ask you to tell us everything ;-) . And, thank's for the compliment (Nodding yes...) Zuikakuyama 1 Posted May 13, 2005 Welcome... I lived in Singapore until last year, and in about 2 months I am going to move back there again. Do you get the NHK English broadcast on Starhub cable? That is one thing I really miss about Singapore. So whereabouts are you going to school?

Bataa 0 Posted May 13, 2005 (edited) Thank you all for the warm welcome. Sorry i forgot to edit my profile. Umm ok i've only met Kyokshuzan once but that was before he went to japan and i was like seven or something..I dunno much about him but i heard he is a very funny guy always joking around.. Oh yeah,Asa s block used to be near my grandmother's and i heard from the people around that neighborhood that Asa was a notorious bully..always beating kids up when he was young and that when he finally left to Japan almost all the kids there celebrated his departure haha.. ;-) Yeah i do watch sumo on NHK in english.. (Nodding yes...) Ok, i'm 19 and i'm currently studying in Singapore polytechnic and will be leaving to US end of this year. Finally i'd like to enlighten some of u guys abit about Mongolia..our population is 2.5 million and 78% of the population live in the capital Ulaanbaatar(guess u guys hear it everytime when mgl rikishs about to wrestle)And most of the people are pretty westernised. We dun have clans or tribes(that was during the medievil) and in the city u can expect things to be like any other city, though there are lots of litters.Hmm,i guess thats all for now. thx again guys.. PS: a pic which i like alot( akebono in mongolia) Edited May 13, 2005 by Bataa

Kaikitsune Makoto 206 Posted May 13, 2005 Welcome sir, Many Mongolians on forum actually. They used to be more active as a bunch but still some Mongolian posters. Nice to see new Mongolians joining. You can see many of your countrymen's posts in the Mongolia-thread: http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=2349 Even though Asashoryu is from Mongolia, Mongolia still rocks and is fascinating.
